My doc says things aren't going to happen....

The way we all think it's going to happen. She just came from some kind of conference regarding the upcoming changes and her opinion is that it is going to blow up big time. She said docs don't want to get involved in this mess. She said it looked to her that only large corporations are going to be responsible for production and someone like myself that would want to make a small business out of it .....well that's just not going to happen. I found it interesting. I hope this lawyer can get this decision set aside for a while. I tried to explain to her that come the end of March, my prescription is going. To cost upwards of $5000 per month and that I could barely afford what I was purchasing now. When she asked what I was going to do, I told her I be in to see her about some opiates. Apparently that won't be happening either! What a fucked up system we have to deal with!!

Since we're in the Medical marijuana thread for Canada, I was expecting the first guy to be talking about the MMRP Program, that is giving out licenses (giving out big word no so easy) to commercial company, with structures and security protocols, to produce and distribute MJ to patients.

Actually that's what happens and has always happened while this country has been run by the democrats and republicans. They don't read these thousand page bills, they are simplified. They are written by lobbyists who slip in what they want, and then the representatives of the business criminals debate back and forth the impact that said bill will have on their donor's interests. It doesn't make a ton of sense to be more up in arms about this bill than any other significant bill passed in the last 40 years.

EDIT: Just re read the last line of your post, and you're right. The Democrats are almost as responsible as the Republicans, with the exception of a few minor hold outs.

On the Canadian forum...must be canadian. What's so confusing? My doc went to some doctor conference regarding the new mmpr rules. It is just her opinion, but she feels the new system will not fly. I was simply reporting what one physician thinks will be the outcome of the upcoming changes. The cost is going to go up no matter what. When I have a licence for 450g per month and the price is going to be anywhere from $8-$12/g the math really isn't that difficult. Even at $220/oz, which is the cheapest I have seen, that is still over $3500. It will be financially out of my reach. When she asked me what I was going to do, I told her I would be coming for the opioid of the day. But that apparently won't be happening either! Me and chronic pain are about to have a go around.

So I am wondering if we should send in our renewals anyways for next year even though they say that they will be canceling the existing program? Maybe you could ask your doctor that question and post back a response. There's lots of video footage of john conroy on you tube speaking in front of the courts with multiple judges but am not sure if that was on september 30th or not.
