new grower indoors help needed

I start plants in 5 gallon pots all the time. I see great growth before the plant's roots fill out the pot. There is no such thing as too big a pot.
Is the Earth too big a pot?

A Root bound solo cup will slow growth, a big pot will not.

Plus, I dislike transplanting, so do the plants.

1.5 meters with a 600 watt light is cutting it close.
My plants need to be about 16" away from my 600 watt light to avoid bleaching.

1 foot for the pot
1.5 feet for the light

That leaves you about 2 feet for the plant.

I would suggest you start flowering when your indica plant is one foot tall.
I also go straight into 5 gallon buckets when I grow in dirt, no problems. Hes going in a tent so you also need to subtract the bulb and add space between the bulb and the roof of the tent or hes going to start a fire. I love my 600,s but wouldnt even attempt it in a tent that short. Flouros or led would be my suggestion

well.....I'm sure we've confused the fuck out of the original poster. That's the problem with sites like this.....so many opinions that are often contradictory. My suggestion....read the many grow journals on here, find one that seems to know what they're doing and ask them for help. That way you'll get one opinion on how to grow and after 2-3 grows find YOUR way of growing.

I did just that and I was able to increase my yield from 1 ounce a plant to 3 within one grow cycle. Many people are more than willing to help you on a one-on-one basis. Keep it simple in the beginning and you'll do fine as long as you have reasonable expectations.

would extending the grow time produce a higher yeild, if the plant is under a 600w, for 12 on 12 off from sprouting, wouldnt it produce a higher yeild than acouple oz's

i though with indica straighs, because they produce small bushy grows rather than tall skinny grows, if i put the seed into a meter squared foiled tent with a 600w light this would produce a higher yeild and decrease the flowering time because more light is being used

here is a plant that was given this treatment and a 2 month veg. I didn't take pictures during flower as my camera broke but these pictures are about 2 weeks before the flip. it was nearly 3 feet wide and only a foot tall at this point. Its in a 3g fabric pot

Nice bushy plant mate :)

I got just over 8oz from my 1st ever grow but lost quite a bit to bud rot, it would probably have been a 10-11oz plant. That was also a 2 month veg in an 11L fabric pot.

Neville.....your expectations are unrealistic if you haven't figured that out yet. If you are a typical first-time grower you can reasonably expect to maybe get an ounce from your first grow....if you don't screw it up like most of us did our first time. There's no magic seed, potion, lighting, or nutrient that will give you what you're asking. You need to get some experience under your belt, and then go from there.

Why is everyone (well, almosy everyone) telling this guy what he wants to do is even possible? From a newb, in a five gallon bucket of soil with a 600 wat light he wants 10 ounces in 6 weeks off of one plant. Not going to happen, no way, no how. OP, you'll be lucky if you get an ounce. Sorry to burst your bubble but thems the facts. Good luck.

All the advice and tips are moot points. There is no way the plant will produce anything kind of product in 42 days from seed. Even at 12/12 from seed. Not 10 oz, not 10grams. OP, do you perhaps mean 6 weeks flower time? Even that would be a tough mark, but not completely unrealistic. I don't see anyway to pull 10zips, but you might get something with 6 weeks of flower. But remember, even if you start at 12/12 from seed, that doesn't start your flowering time.

For the most part, yes.

You can not speed up flowering time. It takes as long as it takes.

The tell tell sign of a newbie. U want to know everything because you are very excited to see what people are going to say. First things First. GROW. Get some experience and Grow, then Grow some more. It will all come to you the more you do it. Find out things by growing, come back and post the different things you learnt and what experiements for you strains you grew. How you grew them and what enviroment, etc,etc..
