How cold is too cold?

My basement isnt heated and its starting to get pretty cold at night...
My plants are on 12/12 right now and my hps keeps it at a nice 75 when its on...
Though my thermometer isnt working so idk how cold it actually gets...
Im obviously going to get a new one as soon as i get a chance,
Im just curious to how cold too cold is...
Since theyre growing in bubble buckets obviously freezing would be disasterous but im sure too cold is way above freezing...
Just cant seem to find numbers anywhere.

I have some in containers outside and temps are in the 40's at night, no issues so far. I dont know about roots in a bubbler.

Awesome. thanks a lot...it probably drops to 55 now, so it looks like ill get a heating mat ans a small space heater for lights off in the winter

Something else to consider is rootzone temperature.


If plants are sitting on a concrete floor, then that can cause excessive cold to pass to the rootzone.
