Granddaddy purple & Huckleberry kush CFL Madness...
Ok so here is the deal we will keep this short and sweet, starting with the particulars of the grow...

The first thing you should know is that the grow will be totally with CFL's from start to finish i will veg under 92 acual watts of 6500k, that being 4 23 watters..
Then they will be Flowered under 4 100 watts actual bulbs for a total of 400 watts..

I will be using my ole faithful Earth Juice formula all of them..

Grow
Bloom
Catalast

My soil mix is a simple one i always use a bag of grocery store special of which i add to it some..
Perlite
Bone meal
Blood meal
Worm casting
Super thrive..
I am using 6" pots in a 2x3x3 DIY grow box for this grow..

So now let me give you a lil history as this grow has already been going for about 6 weeks or more.. i had a little problem with my seedlings and something was stopping them fro growing at a very good pace so as you will see in the first couple of pic's the were not looking like anything..The problem was i had them packed in a soda cup packed with dirt no drainage and no perlite for roots to breath. so the last pic's is 8 days after i fixed this problem and now they are thriving and growing and stinking very well....

these pic's are terrible the plant was almost 4 weeks old here and no growth!

And here we are @ 6 weeks and a day, Looking splendid in there new digs and enjoying some nice nutes and re-pot look at the growth difference in just 8 days...Hope it all looks good for you new update when the box opens!!!

I was considering putting a few Grand Daddy Purps under CFLs for a low-key grow in my room, too keen to see how they turn out hombre! They are looking nice and healthy so far.

yes you are right and i have been down that road as well i just for some reason seem to do better with the 4 larger bulbs not sure why but just do...But thanks for the info hope you stick around for this glad to have you!

NOT true.... i have 23 Watt CFL at 1600 Lumens so thats 1600/23= 69.56521739130435 and 26 Watts CFL are 1600 or 1650 lumens depands on brand so 1650/26 = 63.46153846153846

the 23watts are the best in lumens per watts.

i would like to have someone do a test to see the difference in heat index in your grow room using 4 100 watt equivilant nulbs against say 16 26 or 23 watters i seem to keep my box a lot cooler back in the day with the lesser amount of large bulbs over the many smaller ones that is one reason i chose the larger ones as well as the overall grow and how it came out to me and my liking! But to each his own...

my grow room is 3'x3'x3' so 9 sq ft. I have 15*26w CFL so 390watts...my bedroom is 72F and my grow with it on is 85F. As i reduced a degree in my room temp so does my grow room. i dont even have a good exhaust it just a 4" fan blowing out on a 4"x6" vent hole and have a 8" fan blowing my on lights and plants. and my lights are always 1/2 inch or 1 inch away from the plant never any farther.... and lights are horizontal.... vertical made my plants take forever to grow.

did some topping yesterday and she looks like she likes it so far today will know for sure when i update in a couple days!!!

So here are the girls i just gave them a good boost of nutes and did my mode to the box as you can see i cut the two holes in the bottom to allow the pots to sit down in the cut outs giving me about another 8" of head room now i feel better going into flowering..
