in 1996 he claimed he wrote these newsletters and defended them during the congressional campaign.
Yes, his association with those letters and some of his statements (like the one you posted) are questionable at best. But so much of what he says makes sense to me. He talks about serious cuts and sensible foreign policy, takes no corporate donations and most importantly his actions are consistent with his words.
I don't think he's a racist when it really comes down to it. But I don't care either way.. he is the only politician that doesn't seem like he's trying to sell me a car.
In any event, he had his chance and lost badly. Not sure how I feel about rend..

rushton didn't just sit in the audience or something.
he knew the purpose of the event he was invited to speak at, and went there to speak on their behalf.
by doing so, he takes 100% full co-ownership of the statement.
how many times has obama went to speak at an event sponsored by al sharpton or malik shabazz? did they make such a clear mission statement before inviting obama?
