Don Yelton, a GOP precinct chair in Buncombe County, North Carolina, is resigning following comments about voter ID laws and “lazy blacks” on “The Daily Show”–but the media frenzy about the remarks is continuing.
In an interview this week with “The Daily Show” correspondent Aasif Mandvi, Yelton said that new voting restrictions imposed in North Carolina in the wake of the Supreme Court striking down a key portion of the Voting Rights Act were going to hurt democrats. “The law is going to kick the Democrats in the butt,” he said. He added that “if it hurts a bunch of lazy blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it.” He also suggested that it was okay if the law hurts whites and “lazy” college students.

sure: dude is probably a closet racist, but we would be remiss if there wasn't some truth to that ignorant/racist statement.... its a fucking vicious circle: racism caused segregation which cause economic failure which caused family/social erosion which caused generational failure which cause a perception problem for minorities which caused more ignorant whites to be racist which caused more economic racism which created more welfare recipients who breed more welfare recipients which causes more racism..... basically "Racism" is its own reward .. ... I'll repeat this wherever I can: blacks/minorities have to start fixing their own perception to 1st convert "on the fence" racist .... you can erode racism, but you can't mandate its demise via guilt

Funny...but hate.

A Party Precinct Chair in a Consent Decree State....is a Racist. OMG!!! You who regurg without thought......

Think about this. If I made it my business to dig dirt on all the other PPCs in that State, what would I find?

According the Party Line, I would find Clean DEMS and dirty PUBS.....A JOKE, right?

You would find worse and worse across the board if you were fair. But, the PARTS are not fair.

That would not work in Politics.

was more of an attempt to poke fun at your earlier comment, I was not able to follow it.

But the joke is on me, because my fail attempt to poke fun actually turned out to be comically correct.

Sen. Robert Byrd had long since repented, of course. The West Virginian, who died Monday at 92, deeply regretted his segregationist past, which included a year as a member of the Ku Klux Klan and at least several more years as a Klan sympathizer. He eventually became a passionate advocate for civil rights, and he was one of the most vocal supporters of legislation making the birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. a national holiday.
