So I'm looking to order some new strains but once I start looking I get overwhelmed by so many choices. I'm doing indoor, prefer feminized over regular, and I'm looking to do photo plants. Last time I ordered, I used the site sponsor,herbies. Why is it that certain breeders, like granddaddy purp, they only sell regular seeds... Or newer strains seem like they only come regular, why is this? I was thinking about doing something like, the purps, la confidential, then maybe some white widow x big bud. Any suggestions? Looking to grows a g indica, and a good sativa. Not super particular, just looking for something that will produce a lot of killer bud. Thanks

Wwxbb seems to have mixes reviews. Gotta freebie but to be honest I have better genetics to run now.
Why not regular ceeds? Yes males are a pain (sometimes, I like em to make f2s, why keep buying ceeds when I can dig for treasures), but it isn't too hard to plant a few, flower and discard/move the males.

For sure but I'm not looking to breed, i make clones. Plus Starting from seed sucks, it takes forever. I just hate the thought of buying some GDP seeds, (I think their pricey like $100 for 10) then I have trouble starting seeds( I know I suck). So like if I only germinate 8 then 2-4 of them come out to be males... Just seems like its a more of a pain,and feminized seeds arent that much more $
Hey thanks for the reply. I currently am growing skunk#1 x white widow, and the main strain I'm working with is critical jack herer. The jack herer looks like some seriously killer bud. Heavy resin, and bright orange and white hairs. I'm looking for some primo strains, infamous strains, but also not a super common strain like NL or white widow... I have 1 white rhino x mazar seed, just need to start her.. Trying to find uncles bens germination guide( if anyone has that link).

LA Confidential = LOOOONG veg period to get anywhere close to decent yields, otherwise pretty outstanding bud when grown right. It's a heavy eater and requires both heavy feeding and a massive root ball to perform to its best capabilities. But it can perform very well indeed.

Why not get the GDP, and also get a pack of low cost fems as back up. Start 4 of the GDP, and 2 fems to replace any males that you might get. That way it's not a time setback if you get bad luck on the sex of the GDPs. Female Se-eds, Emerald Triangle and Black Skull are all decent and not expensive.

Yes, but genetically it's not the same. The reason GDP isn't available in anything but regular seeds is because he hasn't taken the time to find an appropriate female to cross with his original mother plant. He might not support feminized seeds as well as there is some ethical concern over the issue. And even if he did that it wouldn't be exactly the same as the regular version. You can't just S1 the best female from a pack of regs, call it feminized and expect to get offspring that consistently resemble the mother plant you selfed. It doesn't work like that typically. It could mean that growing either a regular or a feminized version will require growing out similar numbers of plants to find the keeper you're looking for if the selection is done badly.
Hey thanks for the info, see I know nothing about what it takes to breed. But I am familiar with selective breeding of marine fish, so I am aware that it's a science not just someone with two plants playing around. But yeah I've been thinking about it and I'm probably going to start using regular seeds. the only time I've used Regular seeds I ended up with 2 females 1 unknown(just put into flower), that was out of 5 seeds.... So i guess I'll try to go fem but if there's something that I want, regular won't make be a deal breaker... So typically regular seeds are more pure than feminized seeds? Thanks
wow c99 huh? I hadn't heard of that strain before now but i think someone else recommended it a few post before... What's it like? High yielder? Strong? What breeder sells that ? I have some critical jack herer that's looking sooo awesome right now it's crazy.

Hey that company that makes LA confidential, I think its DNA, are they a good breeder? Cause their pricey. I just wanna be able to have a handful of strains I can rotate. You know when you stay smoking on the same stuff for a long while , your tolerance adjusts to a particular strain and you can't get blazed like when you started smoking it. I was looking at just ordering 1-5 of a bunch of different strains.. Let me type out a list of my shopping cart that I made yesterday.

DNA is expensive, but its a very good strain.
Personally, I order mostly Big Buddha Seeds. I like all the cheese varieties I have tried so far and he Has LA Cheese
The one I have heard best reviews (other than cheese) is Tahoe OG. Its the tahoe Cut OG Kush. Super potent. Im gonna grab 10 fems for my next grow. Along with LA Cheese. Good luck in your quest.

anyhow, Tahoe OG who is the breeder, where can I find their stuff? Does ole herbies sell that? That's the bank I go thru because I've ordered from them before, and because they probably have the cheapest prices

The Purps is something I want to try as well. I have seen some great journals on it.
I have read that people were having issues with royal queen seeds hermie problems.
So Amnesia Haze, maybe Dinafem is a better choice. I want to try the dinafem Amnesia haze, but have been told it takes a long time to finish. Which is ok for me.
Purple Paralysis from Cream of the Crop is something I am interested in as well. Hope you grow it.
I'd Like to see how the Strawberry Cough from Dinafem (I like their seeds by the way) and C99 seems to be very popular right now. Good luck.

After 6 years of straight growing,I feel very confident in saying dna has the good good.
As far as fem seeds,I had a purplehaze fem I've been cloning for two years,a time malfunction turned one into a straight male..I will never mess with fem seeds again..just my advice,take it for what you will.
Heard great things about bomb seeds but haven't run any of their gear..dinfems fruity chronic juice is good,altho mine was a clone given to me..hope this helps!! Good luck,post pics!!
