DWC and SCROG

Hey guyz!

I'm ready to start my first DWC grow! Been mostly into other ways of hydro in the past, but now I dont have much space in regards of height, only 120 cm, so I think scrog is great for a good harvest and DWC doesn't take much space, as there is no tank and pots above it. THe practical question is as everyone says around the videos on the internet that we must clean the DWC bucket once a week, how am I going to scrog and the same time be able to take the plant+roots out, clean bucket etc without destroying the "scrog construction" and the plants in total? I have a few things in mind, but if you can say something that you know as "best practice", I'd appreciate it very much! THx in advance for your help !

insulate the dwc bucket, it will help keep the temperatures down and avoid some problems

i dont know how youd take the plants out

Use two buckets...when you're ready to do a cleaning and res change swap the plant from used dirty bucket into a clean one. In regards to the scrog, affix the scrog net so it is free standing or to the lid

You dont need to clean the buckets unless youv got some problems. Iv done plenty of rdwc scrogs. You will need access for adding water, unless you go the recirculating rout.
Keep the roots/water cool and dont add the wrong type of nute and you should be fine.

rdwc and scrog is a match made in heaven.

I'm still sort of new to the whole growing thing but this is the SCRoG DWC setup I'm at after 4 grows. The screen is 45cm in diameter.

This screen frame (version 2) is made from bent PVC but version 3 is made from aluminum rod, easier to bend. The screen is picture frame wire threaded through to form a grid. The supports are formed with all-thread rod and bolted to the top of the basket. Its easy to lift the plant and scrog to get into the bucket but I haven't had to. As I'm cleaning up from this grow I'll post an overview.

That's a sweet setup!

Here is a better look at my SCRoG setup and how I get in to look at the roots. The aluminum bar for the ring works better than PVC. The camera flash made the roots more brown than they really are. Nice and white with no signs of slime. The Aquashield has worked really well. I've never taken a plant fully out of the bucket during a grow.

That's one cool ass set up. Just can't beat DIY stuff.

Thanks y'all. I harvested a couple days ago. Pulled a trimmed wet pound. This was two weeks after doing a partial harvest (qp wet, zip dry) of the tops that were ready early. I'm shocked to have ~4 oz of flower from such a small space and 120w LED.

Clear head, very relaxing, and good pain relief. Great for doing chores or tinkering around the house.

Seems like I hijacked your thread Tron, sorry about that.

no problem art, always welcome! I finally decided to buy a tent and forget about all this construction in the bathroom thing that should be running all year long... better "suffer" in my room for 3 months but have a harvest for a full year long I say...But still i will DWC and Scrog it...some topping in the very begining etc like LBH's tutorial...just collecting the money for full equipment....seeds already here! Nirvana AK-48 (standard performance) for primary grow and I'll decide later what's gonna be the next one. Journal iNC!!!! :D

This is just off google, but this is the idea I am going for next time. I am at the situation you described. I have a beast of a plant with a floor standing
scrog and its a b!tch to change/clean the bucket when a roommate isn't home.
