New idea? DIY BHO Extraction Tube

I have done quite a bit of research and it seems a lot of people who want to make butane hash oil have trouble finding a tube to do so and resort to using plastic bottles and pvc pipes (there are also way better options like steel turkey basters or glass tubes etc.). I haven't found this idea online, so I will share it with the masses. Has anyone tried cutting out the bottom of an empty butane can and using that as your extraction tube? I feel like this would be the perfect thing to use because not only do you not have to worry about dissolving plastics (and whatever nasty shit you might think is in the metal of the can is already saturated or completely dissolved in the butane that you are using), but it also has the perfect sized hole to put the nozzle of your butane can into (assuming you remove the plastic male nozzle and maybe poke a hole if it needs it). Another point is that butane cans come in a few wonderful sizes. Any thoughts on this/ links to a pre-existing thread about this?

There are many safer options. I personally would not try to cut the bottom off a butane can, because there is always a little butane left in the can. and cutting the can could cause a spark. If you want to do small batches, get a SS turkey baster. If you're looking for bigger batches a Kleen-Kanteen is easy to get a hold of.

Or just buy a tube from your smoke shop......but I guess if you can afford to do that, you wouldn't be using butane

Ooooh ziing haha......but really though, they hold 1-4ozs, I mean they have all kinds of sizes and have a lip and all that....

Maybe it wasnt as popular as i thought :P i dont think its exactly less safe, you could easily use a can opener to slowly release the excess butane (after you press the nozzle for a while ofcourse) and it would evaporate, butane was already in there so i dont think dissolving anything is a problem, i'm just considering a cheaper alternative because i don't have much trim. Ill do a batch with the mini butane can and see what happens! Will have an update soon :)

I could of sworn I saw Fadedawg post a picture of someone doing this but I know I saw it done with a vector can.

You should buy him one out of common courtesy after insulting a stranger for asking question in a forum intended for information sharing amongst a community. and make sure to have it shipped to him with a set of 25 micron bags to get him started.

And let's not forget, you opened the thread for some reason. And if it was simply to insult somebody than that just says everything I need to know about you all at once. And if it was t that, then you were interested enough in the exact same information being discussed here and that would also make you a. . . . What was it said? Cheap bastard was it?

Talk is cheap LYM.

Yes, super awesome! Strangely enough, I did this very thing just the other day, lol. I made sure to empty the canisters completely, and used a set of can openers to slice the bottoms, then drilled and cut the valve so another ( full) canister of butane could easily index and properly seal. Some fine mesh and a coffee filter later and I had some pretty tasty bho. The material was trim from 'wedding cake'. Fairly simple, and a pretty good yield, the only thing I noticed kind of funny is that you need to 'blow' the rest of the butane through at the end, it is not much, but some is kind of left hanging out in the tube, perhaps from there being such a larger volume of space as opposed to a glass tube or the like. Good times...
