Hydro set ups?

Sup people.

Just wondering what your opinion on something is.

At the moment i have a few babies on the go but im thinking for my next run and now that i have a nice tent and some nice shit together (did have a Wilma Big 8 but hated it) im thinking its time i get a nice hydro system on the go, I have seen how fast plants can grow in say a DWC with drip feeding and the yield looked massive to me (it was a mates grow) I want some of that haha.

So basicaly my tent is a 1.2x2.4x2.0m Greenroom so im thinking 8-10 plants? Also the thing i hated the most about the Wilma was that the res is inside the tent and al it has to cover it is that little black bit of card, with my 2 air stones in it to the E.C and P.H was always a nightmare to keep in check because of the evapouration (think i might have some form of OCD because i like to get everything perfect and the Wilma just seemed to P me off).

I have seen these buckets that are all connected and the res can be anywhere Eg outside the tent and can be checked and altered 24 hours a day, I think there bubble pots but with a re circulating system, anyone know what im on about? And if so any info on these systems?

Im thinking i could go into my room and check P.H and E.C anytime, even if the lights are off (maybe even have a P.H and E.C meter in the res perminent and on show in the room).

Im also doing this upstairs and im thinking with all those air stones it might make a bit too much noise downstairs? So i was also wondering if an Auto Pot system would be an good in a tent my size?

Any info on your fav way to grow hydro in a tent around my size and some info about your system would be awesome, maybe a pros and cons list?

Thanks guys, ive got a whole grow (started from seed and there still tiny seedlings and im going to be LSTing them maybe twice to fill the tent) so i have some time to work this one out.

Oh yeah one thing i have seen that i am interested in but the only problems is they have there res in the tent is the Bubblebox, anyone seen them? Like a very small Wilma res with 2 treys with holes in on the top and its a DWC but with top feeding dripper ring thing, another problem with them is i would need to put 4 in my tent so would have 4 res's in the tent then so not sure if i would go with them.

I'm planning something similar only I'm a big fan of sea of green done on an Ebb and Flow table. Requires lots of cloning, but that's not hard. Just have to have someplace for clone mothers.

The large pot E&F might do the trick for you if you really must keep res out of tent. A technical hassle though and I'd be thinking multiple Waterfarms hooked up to an external res. You would be amazed by the grow rate of Waterfarms. I think it's the aeration.

Thanks bro. Maybe i dont have to have the res outside but its just an idea i have since i found it a nightmare to control the Wilma res.

Ive got a few months to work something out but i really do want to get a nice hydro set up thats perfect for my tent.

have you considered using coco coir? very nice growth, w/o the bubbling of a bunch of air-stones, lol....

Yeah ive been using it for a while, im running some babies in it now haha, its just i would like something a little faster.

Im thinking auto pots might be the worth a try but not sure what to do.

since coco is hydro itself, i don't see how anything else would be much faster... i do hear that aeroponics is pretty quick though...

Isnt it because of the roots dont need to force there way through anything, even coco has resistance on the roots, ive seen my mate take 2 little cuts and put them in a DWC with top drip feeding and in just one week they where looking like bushes haha

Regarding relative growth rates...it really is a matter of balancing all the parameters. Lights, nute availability, oxygen to roots and so on. I don't really think root penetration through coco is going to overwork the plant and slow growth. I always worry with DWC and aeroponics that if something goes wrong, you end up with a dead plant in a big hurry. Whereas some of the hyro methods with media...coco, E&F, Waterfarm and such...there's a little more leeway. So if you're new to hydro, look at the safety factor before making a decision.

Yeah thanks for that bro, i know about the risks with a DWC and say a pump going and that.

Im really not sure what to go with next, half tempted just to put 2 trays down in the bottom of my tent and just fill it with pots and just veg for like 2 weks with some LST and then flick them 12/12. Might be quicker turn around with ok yields?
