what sense does this make. I turn my HPS off and am now vegging with CFL's til I get my inline. But now my temps are back up to 82.9 and isn't going up and isn't going down. I have the reader literally a centimeter away from the plant and it's reading that. Yet I have 4 cfls 3 inch away and a fan blowing right over the plant and the cfls. It doesn't quite make much sense!!

No that dosent, other than cfls ballast are fucking hot. Ive always hated cfls more than fluro tubes just because of that reason.

Is the ac tube still directed over that a way?

I need to get myself one of those fancy thermometers that have the reader and display seperate like you gots....

I have no other suggestions @ the minute other than only leaving one of the cfls there on while you are gone. I would leave it about 4-5 inches away as well, it may stretch but @ least it wont grow into the light and burn itself to death....

Yeah i bought a HPS to flower with but due to heat issues i had to go to CFL. I think i will grow primarily with HPS if i can then have some CFL's for side lighting for my next grow. Its a while off yet anyway lol thanks again for the link!

I was using 460 watts of CFLs (2 125w Envirolites and 2 105w cool blues). I have now switched to a 400w HPS which is hung 2 ft. or so above Audrey.

The HPS bulb definitely gets a lot hotter than a CFL. However, there is only one bulb heating the air, not four - and the ballast doesn't give off any more heat than the CFL ballasts, possibly less. I'm ventilating my Secret Jardin with a 250cfm 6" inline fan (the $40 model from HTGSupply) and I've seen no temperature issues so far.

You can get nice dense buds with CFL but it takes a lot of wattage and you have to keep them REALLY close to the plant. You can get equally good results with a smaller HID light. Not to mention that you can get a 150 or 250w complete HID setup for not much more than one Envirolite bulb.

I will have to wait on the nutes until the plant gets to a sufficient size since it didn't grow any from the overwatering. Showing extreme signs of overwatering! It didn't even grow while I was out of town. It's extremely stressed out right now and the catylones are almost completley yellow already!! I will not be watering again until the rockwool is decently dried out and I am shortening the watering schedule.

Apologize again for no pictures, but she's so small I can't get a good picture on my phone.

Sorry to hear of the troubles man. I hope that things start going better from you.
I suggest that you figure your timer settings out or start feeding by hand until that baby recovers from the overwatering.

yeah I've shut off water supply to the plant and am going to be keeping a VERY sturn eye on the plant. I've already setup a chair and a laptop stand and will be basically sleeping here LMFAO! not really but I do spend majority of my day watching it. Now that I have all of my ducks in a row I can now focus on my beauties! I was quite suprised that when I checked the ph of the water it was still 5.4!! I'm ordering my equipment tomorrow when I get off of work. I'll keep it updated and hopefully some growth will come soon enough so I can get some decent pictures up from my phone.

Yeah I'm just glad I wasn't out of town too long and was able to fix the problem before it got out of hand. No worries though bro, life can get hectic and it definently sucks being out of RIU for awhile!
