Hey guys, im just starting this thread now to throw up a quick sketch i have and see what some of the more experienced RDWC guys have to say. I have my PH and PPM pens and all my calibration solutions so i do think im ready to dive into RDWC.

I currently have my first DWC in a 5 gal homer bucket and its doing quite well. i will get a pic up of it tonight.

I wont be building anything for a few weeks, right now im just looking to gather some insight on my plans.

as of right now i have

4x6 flowering room with 1000w HID
32"x32" veg tent with a 600w HID

I also have all kinds of various stuff i have aquired over the last 3 years i have been growing.

my first step is going to be to make my drip n drain table and start getting my first batch of seedlings started, as it is now i wont be ready to go into a full RDWC bucket untill at least 4 weeks. I believe i have all i need for this project.

I will be starting everything from seed, at least for now untill i find a keeper pheno that has all the charecteristics i want, then i will more than likely set up a mother station and run the same strain throught all cycles to ensure i get the best possible results i can. for now im just going to start rolling through my collection of seeds.

I wil be growing some Auto's as we go, they will be grown in soil and possibly outside.

heres my draw up of what i hope to accomplish over the next several weeks. I will be saving the next 3 posts for any projects i document that i want to put at the top of the thread for easier access to people.

aklright going to try and get some pics up of the whole setup and explain a bit more of whats going on.


this is my flowering room. its a 8 site DWC system...using dyna grow bloom

heres some shots of the plants sorry about the crappy orange HPS pics.




and heres the flower room and setup...basically its a 8 site rdwc system with a main feeder pump in a 45gal trash barell. the water drains back out passivly down a 3 inch pvc pipe into a 40 gal tote with a sump pump in it. when the water level reaches a certain point the sump pump pumps the water back to the main rez..simplicity at its best.

heres the veg room...same basic idea as the flower room just only a 4 site RDWC. i have to upgrade the drain so right now it runs 15 on 15 off to keep it from flooding, the only difference is this system works on gravity for draining into the main rez no sump pump and second bucket.




i have tried rapid rooters and rock wool with a propogator tray and mat but they just didnt seem to be doing it for clones.....so i busted out the my verry first aero cloner i made...made a couple modifications to it and this thing works wicked....first think i did was simplify...no crazy pvc rigs off the pump with 20 sprayers...i piece of pvc going straight up with a cap on it and a hole drilled in the middle with only 1 sprayer...also wrappped a seedling heal mat around the bucket to keep the water nice and warm...i think this helps a ton...seems to work really good last set of clones i put in i had roots in 5 days!!!





the strains i know i am growing right now are blue rhino, vintage 2006, pineapple express, critical cush and euphoria....im un sure of a couple plants as tags got messed up and i didnt really sweat it.

i have been running low on seeds so i have been alternating and using 1st gen clones as much as i can without keeping a mother plant. so ill sprout a seed the clone it and use the clones, then sprout another seed and rinse and repeat....this is just too keeps good genetics rolling out and not completly diminish my seed bank.

i also think i have got the perpetual thing going fairly decent....some harvests are more than 2 weeks apart which is what i was shooting for in the begining but i seem to have all different stages in the flower room right now and stuff fairly spread out. next harvest is in 2 weeks. (i hope) buds seem to bee growing really well right now so not rushing anything.

also have a spider mite issue but im working on a plant to resolve it.

its actually a lot less work. just fill up the rez with a hose when it gets low and add some nutes...

cost is what made me switch...water is cheaper than quality potting soil. also a bit of curiosity...soil growing was starting to get boring hehe.

chopped down 2 unknown's last night because they were just too big...about 2 weeks early but i needed some bud and some room in my big tent. anyways...alot of the lower stuff just went to the trim bucket so i have ALOT of nice trim for making some extractions.....going to try my hand at ISO again as soon as i get my hands on a little $$ to buy the ISO. its pretty cheap but i think im going yp need a fair amouunt. i also want to invest in a decent smoking utensil to smoke oil with.

Hay man nice set up I havent writin on here much in the past but Im trying to come here more, great job, started that way myself in a hidden room in my house, Bigger and bigger to what we are today we run a
perpetual grow feeding our own delivery and club hammco.org never stop experementing and trying new things we still mix it up some will maybe do a one of these on a row in the grow like I said were out here just not everyone says anything

fighting root rot and spider mites.....about to give up this hydro shit. one last effort though to fix this.

going to start changing rez every week. sucks because its going to cost more overall to replenish nutrients in a 100gal+ system but gotta do what i gotta do.

got some neem oil...going to give that a try

rigged up a drain system for the big rez. dont have much options right now so i put some bleach in each bucket (all plants removed) and am now flushing the system

wife is working on giving everything a haircut. i hate to do it but im stripping everything down. better than just burning them which is still a option.
