C'mon messing with Stanford or NASA is one thing but they better not be screwing with Tags or RIU!

Seriously though, what did you mean by they fucked with the code? Did you mean they took the discount off? Can you elaborate?
They changed how much it takes off. The code was originally wholesale...now it is just a normal discount. It only makes the at200 $900 and make the at600 2K.

They must have caught on because people were using it too much and they know they didn't actually sell lights.

I am sorry they are how they are(expensive mother fuckers). I will always be trying to find a better deal again.

Yo tags, that's funny you asked if I hooked up the AT200 to a killawatt meter. I tried the day I got it but since I hadn't used the meter in over a year I couldn't remember what buttons to press to get it to read in watts instead of I think it was on amps. I'll try again this afternoon. My AT120 was putting out ~170w when I checked last year so I'm curious about the AT200 now that you said something about yours running 196w but new ones supposed to be 168w. I'll let you know what mine runs at

I asked and a good portion of that spec sheet was not updated yet. I think the at200 should pull around 200w+/-, so let us know.

Can't blame them. Aren't they selling to institutions that do not have price caps like education and research rather than production growers for any crops ? thats really too bad cause I much prefer the apache units except for the price tag.

No matter the product segment, there will always be 'Bentley' type quality that < 5% can afford. Not uncommon for ~ 10% performance gain to cost SIGNIFICANTLY more

What usually happens is, it forces the lower price point competition to up their game, but at a more affordable price allowing the average Joe to get a good slice/taste.

For the average personal use grower, alternatives like A 51 will provide quality meds for many years to come

Yep. I talk about AT and what they have going...but I recommend A51 to most people(except about big situations for the at600). I understand what is practical. Plus A51 is a good light even if it was more expensive.

SGS-160s sooo nice. Wish I'd a bought more!

EDIT: mind you I gat an irresistible deal.
Don't worry...my Apache deal is pretty good ;). I have 2 all white AT120's coming for my veg.
But I don't want to be the only one benefitting from using AT's. Needing a hook up price to barley afford them is not a true solution for people.

Speaking of all whites...the new chips white is closer to 4500/4700k...not fact but it was brushed over in a conversation...so I would venture to say that the at200 all white would flower pretty solidly based on a51's new panels theory plus, that the professor has been flowering under the at120 6100k all white for about 3 years. If you supply ample and quality light...the plants will do the rest.

You're right about the hookup price still being a "little" up there. I'd jump all over an AT600 if it were around the $1250 or even $1500 range. I got an incredible deal on 51s and would've been an hidiot to decline. The all whites SGSs are sold out till December, and the new models are coming early next year. I won't mind the 250$ upgrade charge per panel if need be. I think with just 4 supplemental A19s and 2 SGSs, I could easily do a 3x4 LED space for less than the cost of one AT200. Maybe I'll shoot Apache a wishful email just to see.

Glad you're sprung on your purchase. The thing is that you want a AT, if it weren't for the price. I or apache have never claimed them to be a budged deal. They claim(so do I) to be the best and that is the market they go after.
Plus I said "MY" deal. I will just say that it has gotten better over the years. Loyalty goes a long way.

I don't need or want to debate Apache vs A51. We have a mutual truces/ceasefire fire for shit like this. They are both great lights.
Just remember that this is my thread, Apache is my choice(everyone knows that)...I'll always get the last word if it is valid/worthy of debating. I don't flaunt "my" deal(which would make you shit)...And till just the other day, I got a the whole sale price for anyone and everyone on here who wanted to use it. I was never was selective on who got the code...which AT never gave me the OK to pass out like candy. It still works for a normal discount now.

The SGS160 is not comparable to the at200...it is to the old at120,which has been out and doing what the SGS160 just stared doing, for 4 years already. The new all white SGS could be close the the new at200(nichia vs cree, nichia will win watt for watt...legalities). Plus with the new all white a51 that is all you can get in the new model. You don't have the option of different spectrums like with AT if you don't agree with all white for flower.

I was thinking about scotch's new design and then I remembered there is a AT600L version. "L" stands for long. Everything else is the same inside it(power draw too). Originally designed for Stanford's tables, but is I saw it listed on the spec sheet, so it should be available. Probably not on the site, but they make it if it tickles anyone's fancy.
Only greenhouses using it that I know of, so I really don't officially know the coverage and footprint at our heights, but should do 3x6 flowering pretty much like the normal one does a 4x4.

I'd like to have 4 of these models in a spare room and see what happens.

Well now, I have to say this is the most informative thread I've read in par with World of Hempy thread :). The tech numbers/results speak for themselves. Thank you Tag for sharing your experience/s with us and continuing to share new knowledge. Also thank u to everyone else that has contributed their info/experience. I have been gro'n in a 4x4 tent with a digi 600hps. I get good results but i'm interested in newer/advanced technologies. I was thinking about upgrading to a better tent with 600D material and possibly an AT600. The tent is an off measurement of 4.58/4.58/7.6 (ft)- inside dimensions. After reading your thread and doing a little research, the AT600 would fit best with 4 of Apache/s led light tubes almost similar to the Induction light with the pontoons, except the led light tubes would be closer to the walls to get the umols up a little higher on the outside edges. Cost is somewhat of a problem otherwise 4 AT120R2 and a AT200 in the center would probably be best. Any incite on whether the AT600 would work would be greatly appreciated. Also, I noticed Tags, that you didn't use higher reflective walls but rather just white (at your first/friends) location. Do LED lights benefit just as much as HID lighting from a reflective surface or is the lens angle keep most of the light directed downwards? Peace!!

Your eyes must be soar. You pretty much saw everything you need to know.

The at600 is about 2x the amount of light as a 600hps. So you would get a big bump in yield. The coverage would be fine in that tent. It is really pretty much identical in foot print with 1000hps but with a little more kick in the center. I have seen the T8 tubes used as side lighting and they definitely add growth to an area.

Good white paint reflects pretty well, but the isle side had nothing. LED's would benefit from better reflective walls and such. There isn't very much stray light compared to hps, but any light that is getting outside the canopy would be beneficial to reflect back if possible.
