Cal mag def. help

I'm 5 weeks into flower. My top fan leaves are turning brown and lower leaves are lime green and falling off. I is r/o water at about 1 to 5ppm and growing in coco coir. I took one of the leaves into my hydro guy and he said light burn. So I turned my two 600w hps down to 50% but didn't help. Now that I've read about r/o and coco. I need to put in extra cal mag. I was wondering if I should do a flush with just cal mag or just add it to my nutrients and just feed like normal? I have advanced nutrients cal mag bloom so there is not a much nitrogen.
And an I us as a spray too? Is there any way to give them a boost of the cal mag? I think they need more calcium then magnesium or I would put some Epsom salt on top of the coco. By the way I use all advanced nutrients from connoisseur all the way up. My last grow did the same thing but 10 times worse. This is only my 2nd grow. image.jpgimage.jpg

yea your right (your hydroman was not, don't listen to them fools)

coco have a tentency to lock up cal, so when you grow in coco add some ca/mg+ to every feeding, and use the liquid, stuff like Lime/Maerl won't do you much good in coco other then fuck with your PH, Epsom salt works fine, but is magnesium sulfate, so won't help you with the ca problem (brown spots)

dont mist em in flowering, just add it to your watering and learn from this for next run so you can add it from the start and keep em healthy

.

I got got advanced nutrients cal mag grow and cal mag bloom liquid. Should I just add to the nutrients or give them a flush with just cal mag. Or is there any way to give them a boost of calcium?

Tommy,
Just add it to your nutes. How's temperature? How about PH...could it be nute lockout? Look at and make sure generic things are totally AOK before you hone in your diagnosis. This isn't re-used coco is it? Still thinking...

Temp in res. is 65 to 68. I'm using ph perfect but I still check and it's stays around 6. I'm doing it water to wast. Temp in tent is 76 to 78. It's new coco. How do I tell if it is nut lock out? I dug up some of the roots and they looked good nice and white and big.

Oh I have another question for you I'm running a sealed tent with cot at 1200 ppm. And I have a 22" carbon filter with a vortex 450cfm fan. And I have it com on for 15 mins every hour. Do u think that enough?

Dont flush just start adding cal-mag to every feeding. Drop your pH to 5.2 for a couple waterings, or you could go over 6.2. Ca gets locked out at pH ranges common in coco. Got to go high or low to maximize uptake.

The affected leaves will not recover but its not a huge deal. The plant will be fine as long as she still has some green on her.

Tommy,
Like MYOB said about Nute lockout. Happens with PH out of range and it's actually different ranges for each nutrient and system.
Your grow sounds very nice and well thought out, but the chemistry of nutrient uptake and release with coco must be understood and managed for an optimal grow.. I'm no coco expert but have used it. Mostly my grows have been regular hydro. Lower the ph, add the calmag and see how things are doing.

Regarding CO2, with a sub0optimal grow, I'm not sure of it's value. I don't use it and so have no real useful advice other then shut it off and save money.
Peace,
JD
