the copper pipes hanging out are cold and hot water for a washer it looks like
when a valve handle is straight with the pipe its on so what ever it is is being looped the two top valves are off
gas is usually yellow i believe have you tried turning it on ?

tec's right. Also you should keep in mind that is most likely going to be dirty air ( I almost guarantee it) full of fiberglass insulation and cat shit possibly. So make sure you run ducting to keep that out of your grow.

before i cut these and cap them and then stash them into the hole i want to make sure there not gas lines. i want to pull air from this hole in my closet and this water hookup isnt being used.
Those are water lines. Qest is a polybutelene water pipe that was discontinued some years back. If you are going to cut them and cap them make sure that the cold main shutoff to the house is OFF...otherwise you will have a fucken mess in your home. They make fittings called Shark Bites that you can pick up at almost any hardware store...lowes..homedepot ETC. Ask for two 3/4 inch sharkbite caps. They just slip over the pipe...you push them over the pipe and you can feel the fitting when it bottoms out and locks in place...litterally super easy and quick and they WORK!

Before you cut the lines, make sure that those lines are not feeding any other plumbing fixtures in your house. You may need to buy what is called a PEX cutter to cut the pipe because you want a nice clean cut for ease of installation of the sharkbites.Any other questions or concerns...just PM me.

Gas valves can be yellow, red, green or blue. Depends on the manufacture of the valve. You would think that they would stick to one color but of course not...nothing can be that easy!!!

Also ..if you decide to cut the black drain pipe, be sure to cap it off because you do not want sewer gas coming back into the house. You can use a hack saw to cut the plastic pipe if you choose to. You can find what is called a Jim cap , its just a rubber cap that tightens with a hose clamp. That can also be found at lowes or homedepot. If you cant find the jim cap then ask for a ABS solvent weld cap...I think it 2 inch but it might be 1 1/2 inch. The black drain pipe has white lettering on it and it should say what size it is. It looks like 2 inch.

Those are all gas lines and you will blow up your apartment! lol
Seriously, why do you need to cut them? That is some nice plumbing and it will cost a bit to be replaced someday.
Do you plan to grown in that little space?

the space is much bigger than the picture shows and yes i am growing there. im doing this so i can get fresh air into the closet with the door closed and there is already a hole there. this plumbing will never be used again there is no need to have a washing machine/ dryer combo in the closet when we have a full sized one in another spot.

Do you plan on ripping out all the wood on top of the plumbing?
Not sure what would give you some better circulation, either-
If ripped totally out, it would be a great source of bottom air if filtered from pathogens and light.
If left standing a multi-faceted air intake with a possible intake fan somewhere.

first thought: if you have to ask, you have no business down there.

second thought: sit back and enjoy the inevitable fiery crash. figurative, of course. probably.

Don't mind Bucky.
He has a lot of personal paranoia.

Hey Buck.
Did you just smile or did a bug crawl up your ass?
