so im sure people dont pay a dollar for every gallon of water they use lol. im getting tired of buying water already and its been 2 weeks.

is it better to leave a big 5 gallon bucket sitting out to evaporate? you just have to wait 24 hours right?

i could try and collect rain water but its going to be snowing anytime now

thanks

I simply fill a 5 gallon bucket with tap water put an aquarium bubbler in it and bubble it untill next watering. Refill bucket after each use and you should be good to go. The clorine gets evaporated
and the water gets oxygenated. I have done it like This for my past 3 grows with no problems

I just keep a rotating collection of about 12 1 gal water jugs with little pin holes in the top. When I use each one it would have sat for about a week or so. I refill it and it goes in the back.

I use tap water.

I grow in coco with synthetic nutes.

I fill my container.

Add my nutes to my desired EC level.

1 hour later I correct pH and feed my girls.

Done it this way for about 2 years.

I average +400g from my 400w setup.

I have well water on tap...my local wal mart has the 5 gallon drinking water containers with reverse osmosis water for $1.50...ive been cutting half and half and adding 3 mls of calmag (plus nutes) every other watering up till halfway thru flower (then just bloom nutes) with good results.

Ahh well... I grow in soil...
Water, I have a 55 gallon rain barrel catching all the water from 1/4 of the house...
Which I mix in varied percentages with Water from the dehumidifier [about a gallon and a half per day]
Which I mix with my filtered Tap water at times....when above two sources aren't enough...
I have a hose bib, and filtered hose water right next to indoor grow, but I'd much rather carry 5 gallon water buckets [and one gallon bottles] up and down two flights of stairs....

My Rain barrel is getting down to bottom.... melting snow humm..... may have to try that....just to make growing that much more difficult... haaaaa...
Water... no worries...

I fill a gallon jug with tap water then dump it on my plant. Been doing that for 12 years.
that works with no ill affects. My tap water seems a bit chlorinated u can even smell it so ive been doing the same as the guy above and buying them. Do u think I would be ok using tap. I switched to distilled water due to issues with root rot I believe to be from using stagnant water.

With distilled water only your prolly gona need to add cal mag... Or u could get a carbon sediment filer that goes under your sink. Ive heard they work for the chlorination but duno from first hand

No reason to let tap water sit. Commercial greenhouses actually add chlorine to flood & drain reservoirs to prevent disease. Its a well documented and common practice.

That said I use Reverse Osmosis water filtration to make very pure water from my tap water. Get an RO filter like a stealth ro and use a float tank to collect the output. It won't remove chlorine but it gets out all the ppm of no telling what like calcium and iron that's usually present in higher than desired amounts. When using RO water you may supplement your calcium to the correct level using CalMag or CALiMAGic. This allows you to prevent lockouts caused by excess levels of micronutrients.

get a 5 gallon jug and refill at a local health food store they normally have the best prices. i get mine for 30 cents a gallon. even refilling the single gallons from the grocery store is better then buying them new and the machine filters are nice and purified

Well I lay down a thin layer of plastic 16ft x 16ft and wait to collect the morning dew, it makes the sweetest lemonaid this side of the mississippi, and then I use that lemonaid to water my plants and feed my cats :o:shock::clap::hump:.......I'm sorry, I'm really high so this makes perfect sense to me, ahhh, what was the question agian....oh yeah! bacon!!!...anyway my tap water PHs at 6.6 and I use https://www.rollitup.org/organics/539844-subs-supersoil.html and it has garden lime (dolomite lime) so it buffers the PH for me  ............and I let my tap water set out for 18-24 hours to evaperate the chlorine but no longer than 2 days because the oxygen will disapate also unless you have an air pump going in it...peace...and lets do another bong hit bongsmilie

I see everyone talking about chlorine evaporation.

Alot of water companies now do not use chlorine.

They use chloramine. This does not evaporate out.

You folks had better check what your water companies use to treat your water.
