Guess what I did? I took about a lb of popcorn buds from My outdoor this year and made OIL

I pack 3 oz ground up material in an Xlarge vape tool glass tube

I run (5) cans Colibri butane through

To be collected in a corning ware dish which is then placed on my new fisher scientific heating plate set at 100 Celcius

Until the liquid boils off

Then I add (2) oz 99% Isopropanol Alcohol to disolve the material and release any residual Butane

Turn the temperature down to 30 Celcius

After 24 hours I get this

(5) batches provided me with 42 grams of golden goodness which I enjoy with my vaporizer pens or my pipe

Waste not, want not. I wish I had the time and patience to use everything like you do. How long does it take to make a batch? If you had a lb of pop corn, wtf did you harvest?
 
Average batch of qwizo (my way) takes 24hours or just under to completely purge..from start to finish

If you use heat or vac that can be cut dramatically.....I never use heat though..but I have some pretty high quality standards

I harvested just under 3lbs and any small buds that i did not think was worth the time to trim went in to a box

I enjoy smoking oil and decided that I did not want a lot of weed in my home (Oil is easier to hide and will never go bad)

I still have sugar leaf from trimming and might try a batch of ISO as my hot plate has a magnetic stirrer just to compare results!
 
Are u re blasting the material?... i di 23 g the other day 3 g return. Blast again got 1.6... blast again got .3.. all frozen material. Tube, weed, butane and tray was in freezer for hours prior to blasting

I blast it once and run (5) cans through which is probably more than needed but I want to make sure that I get it all

I place usually place the loaded glass tube in the freezer for a couple of hours prior to blasting if time permits but I honestly have not seen a difference in yield running frozen versus non frozen materials

How much butane are you blasting each time?
 
Half a can a vector an oz. the 1st run... less than half can for 2nd run...

Which is prolly bout the same u use i guess. I think those cans are half the size of vector and u do 3x material... have u tried reblasting with half the initial blast?

Just asking cause ur getting 9% return. And ive been told 11% for trim and buds are like 20-25% return. Ive never got under 13%

If i got 4g from 13.... i could do that 11 times and have more oil than ur 15 oz. And thats only 5.5 oz. Meaning ur buds have about 1/3 the trics....or ur leaving them in the tube...my first blast was 28g of popcorn n trim and got lil over 5g...9oz and got more oil than u will... just pointing out that ur def leaving oil in

The quality of my out door these year was not that great, I grew on the edge of a swamp and let it go wild style, I achieve far better results blasting my indoor!

I think that you would be better off blasting one time with larger volume of butane than multiple smaller blast?

I am currently looking in to purchasing bubble bags as well as running an ISO wash with my remaining outdoor and if I go that route I will run 3oz each way and compare results
 
if u had good weed u would need to reblast. guidelines for trim is 11% average return. And good buds get 20-25% return... ur geting 9.13% return...

guidelines for trim? wtf r u talking about? no rules to this shit. what u get is what u get. yield is dependent on quality of the grow and tightness of trim job 9% back off of outdoor you grew yourself doesnt seem to bad to me. besides OP said he used little popcorn nugs on a large outdoor plant those dont receive nearly as much sun as tops do. guaranteed to not have as much trichomes. i get 12-14%off blue dream indoor trim. same mother plants same grower same trimmers i get 8-10% off of outdoor. do i whine about or consider a waste? fuck no outdoor cost pennies on the ounce to grow. 15 years ago everybody threw this stuff out now they give it to me to extract sounds great to me
