Appreciate your answer, but location is key. I know shit goes for cheap in Cali and other places. But $300 an oz is a AVERAGE price for something better than mids. Whether it be high grade or a strain you don't see too often(around here).

I'm going to stop posting on this thread, unless something really catches my eye. All the answers and responses have become irreverent and have circled the same thing "don't do it". You do not need to be telling your friends you can get weed mate. You'll be surprised what jealousy does to people. I'd look further a field for someone to give it too.
If you want to grow then start small and work your way up, if you want a cycle start but have fewer plants.
Really look into what people smoke. There's enough people hyping that they will buy then don't. You don't want to be sitting on a supply.
Start small and test your product at the end. If it isn't great flog it cheaper.
If I were you I wouldn't bother just yet but looks like your minds made up.
Remember if you tell someone whats to say they won't do the same and tell someone.
16 plants is gonna stink up real bad, if you want good odour control make sure you get an ozone system, jmo

Do some math dude. You are contradicting yourself. You say you want to buy a house in a year. But then you say you know it will take a few grows to get yield. A grow takes:
1/2 mo roughly to turn a seed or clone into a vegging plant
1 month of veg
2-3 months of flower
So after one year, what could you have under your belt.
Plus, to make the dough you need to move some volume. If you are selling to dealers, they need profit so you are cutting margin. You say you will only sell to some close friends. Are you close friends with a plethora of weed dealers? If so, whoever currently supplies may be none too pleased.

Honestly, if your worst scenario had you banking 24k/yr before costs a decent full time job will net you close to the same without the overhead, not to mention the paranoia. Just being for real,but if your heart is set on it bro, do what you got to do.

If your parents do not know your gonna grow in their house which if your busted means they loose their home, their bank accounts and their freedom then this is a no do. No one should advise anyone of how of what to do if they are assholes who are gonna grow in their families home and jepordize their lives and finances. If you do not have their approval or own your own spot then do not grow and if you do your just a dumb as prick. Point blank no candy coating it. Hate people who care so little of their family they would do this.

If one of your friends get caught with your product while selling or with intent, they are going to be looking at some serious jail time. The DEA will offer them a deal. They will get off scott free if they give up their supplier. I know this from experience. I know you don't care and you are not asking about getting caught but you should know this. I only grow so i don't have to buy. Why not just get a job and a little appartment? Then you could just grow for a hobby and you wont have to put yourself in jeopardy. Buying a house means you will have to make money for the next 10-30 years, depending on your mortgage. Thats a lot of time to have to worry about getting caught. Im sure everybody who has ever gotten caught took some amount of precautions and thought they would never get caught. Freedom and peace of mind is more valuable than money or property IMO. I'd hate to know that I made all this money, bought a house and it all got taken away along with my freedom. All that for nothing. Just some friendly advice.
I lol'ed while reading and just had to respond to this. How much do you think at a time do you think they are going to be pushing? Pounds or something? I would sell it by the ounce to them, and once they are done with that one with either smoking it themselves or selling, I would sell them another one. A ounce or less in GA is a misdemeanor. Doubt the DEA would even get involved or be pushing deals like that. It would just be the local police. Growing in an apartment? You do know how much noise one incline fan, let alone 2-3 (one for veg tent, one for flower, and one just for the whole room in general). Also 10-30 years working just a normal job would get you a house. If I can get a full/part time job while going to college, and convince a family member to say I work in their business (I would pay myself my own checks), I could get the house paid off easily without it looking suspicious. Even if I have to end up buying some cheap fixer up. As long as it has a basement, I'm good.
If legalization or medical MJ in GA chances don't start getting better in the next couple of years, I may even consider just moving somewhere where they do have it. Like other people have mentioned, I do have my whole live ahead of me, why stay here in GA?

You are so wrong about cops not caring about people with oz.'s. Cops love to try to "climb the ladder". From most of what you have posted, you really have no idea what you're trying to get into. You are way, way over your head. Get some real life experience then decide if you want to risk your freedom and a lot more.
