Can I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil to plant seeds throughout Vegetative State and Flowering State? Also throughout Vegetative State do I have to feed it like add anything or do I have to start feeding it once it's in Flowering State. If so can I use Fox Farm Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom and how often do I feed my plant. Also when I transfer my plant from Vegetative state to Flowering State do I have to change the soil.

Yes you can use the soil all the way thru.I would start seeds in a soil that is made for seed starting and seedlings. I would start them in red solo cups 1st. Then transplant them into the fox farm soil. Yes you can use the fox farm nutes. Start off at 1/4 strength and work your way up alittle at a time.

It is my understanding that FFOF soil is loaded with Nitrogen. Most people say that they have gotten away with zero extra nutes during veg. It is ideal to never have to repot and some people believe that having more than 7" of soil height for seedlings yields more female plants, meaning solo cups might give you a higher number of males. If you're going to use FFOF I would look into cooking soil. Organic soils like FFOF need cook for a while (minimum 1 month) so the microbes can "ready" your soil. However, people say that FFOF is great straight out of the bag. Just remember it is a weed after all and can grow in conditions other plants can't.

Here is where I posted my questions about "baking soil". First reply was very useful. https://www.rollitup.org/organics/747941-letting-soil-bake.html

Sorry if I come off ignorant but first

Fox farm is overpriced dirt with some "organic" material. Or so claimed

Save yourself alot of money and gain some knowledge by building your own media. Most basic could be peat, lime to raise that acidic peat and lots of perlite. Above 50 composure on the perlite if you want the full benefits....

And btw it's not called a weed because It can grow in conditions other plants can. A weed is any specie that is unwanted in the vicinity of which you are speaking.

Some rogue tomatoe plants can be a weed in the middle of a cannabis farm.

Please don't spill false information into unknowing minds.

You'll be fine with FFOF from seed to harvest, it already contains nutrients that should last you well into veg. You don't want to start with nutes until your plants ask for them, there are a few deficiency charts around here that illustrate what to look for.

Some say its too hot for seedlings, I've seen strains very sensitive to over fertilization grow just fine from seed to harvest in FFOF. It would probably be best to cook your own soil, but for a simple solution, strait out of the bag works fine.

the oyster shell in it is used as a buffer, and can wash away easy. Once the oyster shell is gone, pH drops due to other nutes in the soil, with no buffer.

you could add dolomite in with the mix or just flush it when you notice pH changes in the soil
