Advanced Nutrients Yield BLUE DREAM

NORCAL4EVER

What's up guys? Ive just recently cropped (Blue Dream) and I was a bit dissipointed in my yield. I have a decent grow room and cant find to seem why the nugs are some what small and very light weight. I want to start another run but would like to know how to grow fat and heavy nugs. This is my setup...

7X7 room
2 - 1000w MH/HPS
6 inch intake
8 inch out
1 wall fan
temp 71 degrees in day and 59 degrees at night
48%-52% humidity
Hydroponics 5 Gallon buckets hydrofarm kit (hour half on hour half off)
Strain: Blue Dream
Medium: HydroCorn
6 clones
Veg 4 weeks (18 hours)
Flower 68 days 10 water
Ph 5.8 veg
Ph 6.5 flower
Air stones in each bucket
All Advanced nutrients
Veg: Sensi grow A+B, B-52,
Flower: Connoiseur A+B, Bud Ignitor, Big Bud, B-52, Bud Candy, OverDrive
Clearex for flush (once a week)
Dry for 7 days upside down
trim then cure
Yield:470 grams:wall:
Very good quality
can someone help me out, im trying to be growing fat :weed:

PH is a bit high for flowering.

I recommend below 6.2.

Allowing a drift between 5.2-6.2. Anything outside of this drift should be corrected to back inside the drift allowance.

Veg for 6-8 weeks.

With 1000w lamps you can grow 4ft tall trees.

I pull +400g from my single 400w.

I use a base nute of 5-4-3, with a week of PK1314 some extra silica, Ca, Mg, enzyme product and a root promoter.

Try to maintain 70-75F.

Are you performing any kind of plant training?

Also a 10day plain water is pretty excessive with hydro.

Usually if you do flush 3-4 days is plenty in hydro.

I'm a coco hydro grower and personally never flush.

I reduce feeding strength over the last few weeks as the plants requirement for nutrients decreases.

Also how old are your bulbs?

2-3 flower cycles and bulbs need replacing.

light footprint 4x4 for 1k light, so if your using the whole space will be a little fluffy. idk anything about the seed version but alot of ppl around here grow blue dream from clone outdoors and they get really big buds off those. If your keeping them healthy the whole time, enough light good temps... they should get pretty big.

jondamons advice is solid. if you could manage it i would either get more light in there or a light mover to maximise the light you have

Ultimately I feel your issue is 2 things.

Veg time and flowering pH.

I give my own plants near on 6 weeks veg from seed under my 400w.

I wouldn't expect a 4week veg plant to produce more than about 3oz a plant.

6weeks veg upwards of 4oz.

8weeks veg upwards of 5oz.

Plant training is your friend if you aren't doing any currently.

A simple TOP procedure would help.

Mainlining is pretty awesome too.

I'm about to harvest my first run of mainline plants.

Time/Yield
Which system is the most economical though?
If 3 weeks = 3oz and 5 weeks = 4oz it's a 25% increase of yield for a 40% increase in time/energy.

Topping & Cropping
I recently read a post by a guy who said he'd not pruned (top, crop, fim...) his plants for the first time ever and they were doing just as good as when he did.
He said that the extra time needed, for topped plants, ate up all the increased yield.

That's just a matter of opinion.

The idea is to maximise the lights footprint and penetration.

If I had a3ft tall plant under my 400w that hadn't been trained in anyway then the bottom 12" on the plant would not be receiving any decent light to produce anything worthwhile.

If you're using a perpetual cycle to grow then realistically there is very little point in giving any veg time whatsoever.

Rooted clones go straight into flowering as single stem plants. Quicker turn over, less popcorn etc etc but with the added cost of running a seperate room.

If you veg and flower in the same room then plant training is a must due to the inverse square law of light.

Why have one cola per plant basking in the best light when you can have 4,8,16 colas on a plant.

Yes it takes a little longer to veg them to get the training shape you require but if left un-pruned you end up with popcorn buds only good for hash etc.

Your math is flawed. Unless you're talking about the yield you get after 3-5 weeks of veg (no flowering) the 40% figure is WAY off.

Say it's 8 weeks to flower. Then you're talking 11 weeks (3+8 ) or 13 weeks (5+8 ). That means we're talking about 13 divided by 11, or 1.181818... 18% increase in total growing time.

Now how does that 25% increase in yield sound?

Anyway, I'm curious how he got the flowering pH up so high if he was using AN's pH Perfect nutrients.

so you're not topping or lolly-popping your plants? i would try to keep the ph ~6.1-5.8, 6-5 is way too high. add another outtake fan to circulate air better, along with at-least 2 more wall fans. also, how ever many air-stones you currently have running, i'd double it. i noticed you dont have calmag+ in you nutrient recipe. currently running blue dream, and they are calmag whores. i have to give them big shots of calmag+ throughout veg and the first 6 months of flower.

do you have any pics?
