You gotta be kidding! Check out Minky! Ok I doubt he ever had papers but this is a Siamese cat. When I went to the rescue centre to get my first cat there were pedigree dogs too. They had Beagle, German shep and terriers. Barcelona is over run with pedigrees for some reason. The dog right now to have seems to be the French Bulldog

do you live in canada?
Nah but I could throw a rock across the pond and hit Vancouver Island :) I'm from the middle of the U.S but I visited Vancouver Islad 9 years ago and decided I was moving, didn't want to mess with citizen ship and all that noise so I moved as close as I could be, hiking was also a factor so I moved to a location that was prime hiking area.

Have you considered a Belgian Malinois? I'm partial to Rottweilers myself but I would have a Malinois before I had another Doberman.
Ive never considered any breeds apart from Shepherd. Belgian Sheps are nice. This dog needs to be relocated into Barcelona and we need him as a guard dog. I may get too attached though and want to keep him!

Here he is with the other dog my friend owns. The bitch on the right is quite big so Bruno on the left must be massive!!

What d'ya reckon guys? Shall I give it a go?

He's a beautiful young guy - send him my way if he doesn'tfit in. ;-)

God, look at that face !
He looks like a gem! I just looked up the Belgian Malinois and it is a Belgian Shepherd! Bruno looks like a nice dog but will need guidance and a firm hand. I can do the training but I need to be consistent with it.

Given that you're experienced with big dogs....do it! And please don't crop the ears

I've already messaged him to say 'no ear clipping'. I want a nice dog that is socialised with people and children. Not a dog that makes people cross the street. He'll need a muzzle by law I think.

My friend is actually Mexican/American. The other dog is older so I think he brought her over. She's lovely. She was bouncing on her front legs when I was playing with her the other day. Really excited and respondent. I think I'm ready! My German Shepherd was trained by hand signals. I won't go as far with this one but I will do road training.

While I do enjoy looking at pretty females (present company included) I think I prefer this thread over pics of yourself... I'm dig up some OMG she's adorable puppy pics, my pups first year is highly documented!!
