Look for strains that can handle that weather or grow indoors for veg and put them outdoors to flower.KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

most strains will handle the temperatures you will get during your summer.

heat outdoors is not an issue.
do not water during the heat of the day.
water in the evenings to give the plant plenty of time to have a drink before it gets hot.
so give them full sun and by harvest you will have some thumpers to brag about..:-)

I find it hard to believe that the hot weather wont kill the plant

but so your saying if i get a strain that is mostly sativa then i will be better off?

just dont let it bake in the sun put it in a spot where it gets full sunshine and as the sun moves throughout the day the plants get some shade but water them in the morning or evening and you should be fine.... im in socal and i introduced 2 new seedlings last week into the hot weather it was 100+ here last week. yesterday and today are lil more coolor but damn my babies are gettin huge for 11 and 10 days old

they are all bag seed and i planted biggie my first plant march 31 2008 in some black magic soil in a 5 gallon pot well this was just an expirement and we were just gonna see if it would grow on sunshine and water well it grew for about 3 weeks and got like 3 or 4 nodes then the leaves started yellowing and wilting this alone caused me to read more on RIU and wow i learned alot so i went and bought some ff ocean forest soil, bat guano, bone meal, perlite, peat moss, worm castings/ kelp seaweed mix and ff big bloom once i bought all this stuff oh yea i also got peat moss pellets which work so well for the germinated seed any ways i just mixed all this stuff up together in a big tub and just put a lil bit of everything what i thought was best.. and i transplanted biggie outta the 5 gallon pot into a 16 oz cup with the new soil and wala its back to life it seems tho that its growth is stunted but its moving along and the 2 germed seeds i planted last week. smallz was planted on sunday 11 days ago and tiny was planted on monday 10 days ago and wow these guys are growing like beasts i mean they are like 5-6 inches tall with such an amount of leaf tissue that they are a lil top heavy but it looks like they are straightning out oh and my babies love to sway in the wind makes they stems stronger.

i live in an area where the temp exceeds 120 deg during the summer.
my plants live out in the open with full sun,and they thrive .
my avatar shows what can happen with full summer sun.
