Lighting mistake.......can I fix this?

I'm running 18/6 light cycle on day 20 of my grow. I found my timer failed to shut my lights off last night. My plants had 4.5 hours of extra light until I finally could get the light off. My light should be back on in 1 (6am on, midnight off) hour but I'm not sure how to get them back on schedule properly...is this really bad? They have had perfect 18/6 up till this morning...help?
To be sure...lights should have been OFF at midnight and back ON at 6am....light stayed ON until 04:30 (4.5 hours extra) last nigh, off now.

1 day isn't going to cause any problems, especially in veg. When you get to flowering stage, then yes, you want to be more vigilant, but an extra 4.5 hours of light during veg, 1 day, isn't going to cause any harm. In fact, a lot of folks run 24/0 in veg. Just get back on the schedule that best fits your situation. Good luck on your grow!

Thanks for the advice...what would you do to get back to the midnight-6am OFF cycle when it's now 5am and the plants have been in the dark for only an hour...when would you turn back on today?

Just set it back to the usual 6-midnight time, and it'll be fine. It doesn't matter in vege.

Same problem for me the other day, although I didn't have a timer, I just plain old forgot, too much weed I suppose. Put it back into cycle and everything should be good. I have a timer now thought, hehe

Thanks guys. Since I found the mistake at 4:30am I will start the lights today at 9am and shut down at 1am, tomorrow I'll go back to 6am to midnight...hopefully that strategy is OK. Thanks RIU communtiy.

The ladies are back under the light. I started the day at 9am. I will shut down at 1am. Tomorrow I go back to 6am to midnight. One surprise this morning was the odor that has started. Is that normal for White Widow or other plants to start smelling after only 17 full days? It smells wonderful and really made me smile.
