Charity OG Gage Green

Hello All,

I hope every one is staying warm out there.

I admit, I havent been a fan-boy of GGG as of lately. A few strains I have grown of theirs have been a disappointment to me. The first strain that really ever caught my attention from GGG was the charity OG. Finding a good OG in seed form is something that I have been on a mission for quite a while, having very few successful attempts I figured I would give it a try.

I will be back to update this thread when they are done, because they are not. Im thinking a couple more weeks. I gave a short 3 week veg with lst and multiple topping. So buds are smaller size but multiple sites on the little plant, I never veg an unproven strain long incase they are not what Im looking for. I dont want to waste too much time.

The first thing I notice was BIG calyxes. Some actually having big clusters of multiple calyx inside of one, about half as big as my thumb. Theres a few where they are the biggest I have ever seen. Looking bomb as hell. A fuely og is coming and it in smell may not be dead on og, it is there and very close and very dominant. It is not the sweetness I smelled from the other GGG strains, and I am happy about it.

I attached a couple pics, I promised a few peeps I would report back on this strain and I will be back to give a smoke report. Peace.

Been waiting to here youre experience with the charity. Like you i havent had good luck if any with gage. But the results are worth it...im waiting on mendodawg to finish, which smells like good champagne, and about to start flowering cherry puff. Well see... Charity easy grow ? How was stretch?

Very easy to grow, liked a smaller amount of food. I'd say about 2x stretch. Not as much as I expected. If the smoke is decent, I'm going to run the best plant again and get her much bigger this time.

Hey everyone. Well my verdict is out. Mixed emotions on the charity. Out of the 11 I had 7 females. 5 of which were lower yeilders and had og flavors but mixed with a sweeter, fruitier flavor. They were ok. Maybe 5/10 still frosty though.

The other two were much more og. One even being a decent yeilding plant. Taste was og fuel minimal pine and almost no lemon. It was a pretty good pheno, I'd say 7/10. I'm going to run the clone again to see if I can get it better. The buds are frosty and dense.

There is definitely fire in these packs of charity. The jo og phenos seem to be the sweeter ones, the ocean beach og phenos seem less common but the better of the bunch. I think I am done with ggg.

Here is a pic of the final product of the best pheno.

Wishing you all happy holidays and a merry Christmas.

I am about midway through flower on my first ggg run (grape puff), and I'm less than impressed so far. Only 8 of my 10 seeds sprouted, and of the 8 I am left with two females ...... which are the smallest little runt plants I've ever seen. They are no more than a foot tall in 7 gallon containers that weren't flipped to flower until 9 weeks from seed. They should be 3-4x that big by now. I will have to be absolutely blown away by the smoke to give their gear another try. Too many other seeds waiting in line (and patients needing meds) to waste any more time.

what other GGG strains have you grown that you didnt like?

i have been growing nothing but GGG and Bodhi for a while now and i can honestly say neither one has dissapointed me yet. i have a pack of charity in the stash which i was going to run next because i know some solid growers that have run it with amazing results. theres looked nothing like yours though. the charity grows i have seen are heavy yielding (for an OG) and earthy pine tar flavours.

charity has been bumped from next round though as Bodhis Dream Beaver has been popping up all over the place looking dank as hell and it has just taken priority over charity but i will be sure to come back and share my results once i get around to growing this one.
im not discouraged one little bit by this as i have seen the potential in these when grown right

Ive grown 2 grape puff. Super slow veg, low yeilding, though I did like the smell, taste was lacking. Low potency high. Resin production was very high, very frosty. My opinion, nothing special.

5 daybreakers. Super vigorous, very easy to grow. Sweet candy smell, absent in the taste depo, lacked any serious buzz. Very pretty covered in frost, good yeild. Lack of high, lack of taste, and smelled absolutely nothing like chem d. My opinion, terrible.

6 blessings og. Good growth, easy to grow, moderate yeilding. Super frosty, had a sweet- tropical smell and taste. Nothing like og. If I was looking for a tropical fruit smelling bud, it might be pretty good. The fact I was looking for the og as advertised, didn't come close.

You read my charity. I should have took a pic of the whole plant. I topped them 3-4 times and tied them down. I didn't get a main cola, only popcorn galore. My own style I find to out yeild shooting for a single cola (natural grown). Now I agree not as pretty as the skilled folks with the great camera skills. I've only seen a couple charity grows on the web. I think one was genuity and danksmith who's buds looked anything but good, he was the one talking that pine tar stuff. Unfortunately sometimes you have to go outside the circle for a unbiased opinion.

You must be happy by what Jo og is throwing out. That's great. I didn't like the sweet, candy flavor. I like og's, sours, and chems. That's why I tried the strains I did. Og x og, I was expecting different.

Maybe I'm a pot snob. I was after a great og in seed form. I've cracked hundreds of seeds. The closest companies to capture og in seed to me was Cali connection with Tahoe og, and rare dankness with docs og.

your are not alone in hoping for some og funk! im still hoping i hit some as i havent popped a full 10 of any crosses with jo. i would say crack the rest before you give an opinion as you may get what your looking for and have to come back here and have a change of opinion.

No Sir. Rare dankness is the breeder. Docs after "thadocta" with the infamous face off og as the mother x rare dankness male.
Bro are you aware that thadocta is releasing his own gear now?? There was a recent drop of Face Off OG BX2 and FO-OG crosses. Archive Seeds are a way better option than RD

Can't judge any strain proper on a 1-3 bean run lol, there's stanky dank OG in there in the mother dom phenos.

Seems like archive stopped sending out seeds or something. Everywhere I've looked only has few of their seeds for the last 3 months =( Know anything about apothecary? The seem like the breeders that bred all of Cali connections stuff.

I've been tempted to go gage green or even rare dankness too, maybe even karma or bohdi, but all the best stuff is always out, and almost all of archives are always out.

Btw I think a lot of the more popular "California" funk strains might be over hyped and despite still getting you fucked up down the road, the high gets old and lacks some of the finer traits found in less popular buds and some of the late 90's heavy hitters. It kind of seems like the chemdog funk craze washed out the meaning of quality in bud. It's also possible I've just not found the right new school stain and only got lucky in the past, but I'm certain that the several potent strains I've smoked the last 8 or so years have lacked a certain kind of euphoric and dreamy comfort that I miss.

Anyway goodluck OP

That sucks man, I popped 7. All 7 germinated and I'm looking at 4 females, 2 males and one undecided so far. They're all some of the most vigorous plants I've grown, no runts either. Guess it's just the luck of the draw when it comes down to running seeds.

The only beans that I didn't crack the whole pack was grape puff. Honestly, I don't want to try anymore. Ive still got 2 packs of scotts og. 2 pack's of leeroy. 3 packs of buddha tahoe, 2 packs of tahoe og 2 pack's of sfv og. 1 pack of deadhead. Im sure I can find some dankness.

Im holding sfv og legit cut. Faceoff cut. Pre 98 bubba. Yeti og. A bomb wifi. GSC's forum cut. 2 of the doc's. The keeper charity that I will run again. Also a chemd to mix things up.

I've got some good og cuts to work with. Instead of running a pack at a time im just going to pop single seeds from now on. That way if it's shit, I'm only out one plant at a time.

Seems like I've got more time than space in my garden. I promised myself that I'm not buying any more seeds. I've probably got several hundred that I've got no interest in running. I'm just gonna slowly pop what I've got and keep the best.

I'm glad I tried them, if I didn't, I'd always wished I would have.
