Bought a chiller, 2 air pumps, And still having root issues

Running DWC system is like walking high rope around the clock. Why bother with chillers, multiple air and other pumps and get frustrated? There are much , cheaper , easier and overall best hydro setups.

Growing MJ is not space NASA scientific operation, they call dope "weed" for a reason.

Cannabis grows like a weed unless you are constantly trying to kill it. After all any plant or even a weed can be killed.

Cannabis is semi succulent type of plant, hates have the roots wet all the time, DWC is the LAST method one would choose to grow it, assuming the individual has very basic knowledge about
plant kingdom.

Stay stoned guy and leave the knowledge of what slime is to us:

This explains for you that it is algae and a form of it. Google it.

Hey, Thanks for that link twistedwords!
After reading that link again, it made me think about my previous battle with that shit, and that must have been what me and my buddies got a while back. We think it came from the first cuts we ever got from one of the first clubs in sanfran. Like I said, we gave up on the tubes because of it.
I would actually give that a try, as a preventative, if i decide to go aero again.

Have you ever grown in a DWC, or aero type setup? Because if you had, you would understand why it is trick. Unbelievable growth! I mean, speaking about aero, do you know of any other setup that flowers a freshly rooted cut into a beast. 32 plants per 2000w, we used to pull 4lbs. Like I said, no veg except rooting.
DWC grows the most amazing
Trees.
Both setups not needing any trips to the store, except for nutes.

Do you have good air stones in each bucket? That should help

I use individual Air Pots on a tray. Medium is a combination of base lava rock the rest polished ornamental river rock (The Dollar Store)

The lava holds enough moisture between feed cycles, which varies depending on size and age of plant, ~ 95% of the runoff goes back to rez in a matter of one minute.

Rez has 160 gph pump flooming 24/7. ZERO slime/algae

Oh, I use Hydroponic Research V + B RO formula
Running two stones now. Two stones in each bucket. I have two 18 watt air pumps so I took a line from each one of the pumps.

So I gotta ask, why does it do so well when dialled in???? Semi succulent, really? I would have not thought that. I dont run dwc but have seen some amazing results. I myself failed at it and now run kind of a hybrid of a few systems, i like to tinker lol.

I don't care how you grow your weed. Do it any way you want. There is no perfect method. Learn to be a master at the method you choose. The argument of what is best is really getting old.

I run two dwc 400 tubs with no chillers/heaters or no added h202. Just a tub with two air stones per a tub. Never have slime. I'm a lazy grower and never change res water just top up once it's around a 1 inch away from dry. And my grow tent gets hot some days 80-85f with two 600ws. So if I were you I would look out for light leaks. I had a light leak years ago what caused slimey snotty roots. You shouldn't have to add h202 and other unneeded ferts. I run canna hydro a+b with boost in flower and get great results. Keep it simple get lots of air in the roots and make sure no light is getting to res. Pretty simple tbh

Is there anything organic in your nutrient line? If so, that could be the problem. Organics and DWC don't play well together. Also with the ph up and down, some react to different nutrients. I used a cheapo ph down and had problems. Switched to Gen Hydro and it went away. Lightproofing is huge too. Check the tops where the plant goes in. Can use a neo collar around the base.

my solution to all the rot fighting, temp issues, pH monitoring, expensive equipment and subsequent failures was to switch to DTW coco...
IMHO the slightly lower yield is a reasonable tradeoff to having less migranes

sorry, that is not a solution; that is defeat.

Ahhh, I ran out of hygrozyme this week and have been getting some slight slime problems in my aero setup. I just read about the light leak thing, I guarantee that's what's causing the problems I've been dealing with.

Aero is the shit. I can't believe how fast the growth is. My 6 week vegged aero plants from seed are the size of my soil plants that I vegged over 2 months from clone. Frostier, too, but I think that's just in the genetics this time in particular. I've got some blue dream coming that looks like its gonna be some fi-yuh
