Your friend comes off like a friend I had known for 2 decades. The similarities are insane. Gradually over around 7 years the friendship had become almost completely parasitic in nature. It was extremely gradual and I actually had to argue with an outside source when they started pointing everything out to me. Then I had to take a step back and get others perspectives because my opinion was clouded due to nostalgia. The moment it clicked I damn well knew I had to rip my friend off like a band aid. The worst part was when having to sit there when the first person to bring it up to me said "I fucking told you so"
7 years is a long time to be friends with someone. Especially when it's a "friend in need" You complaining about him being ungrateful as fuck should tell you things aren't quite right. Your friend's only concern is staying fucked up. 2 ounces a week is an insane habit. From the price tags you mentioned that's almost a 500$ a week habit. No wonder he's fucking broke. If his ptsd is that bad he needs a whole lot more than some white widow to deal with it. He needs a shrink, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Zeus, and maybe even Cthulu.
You sound like a person who cares far too much about people and you got mixed up with someone who has no problem exploiting someone for there own selfish reasons. That's a very bad combination for the 1st type of person. I know we may all be on the outside here and "strangers" on the internet. But as far as I've seen we've all pointed out the fact that your friend walks, talks and acts like a duck.
I personally think you should tell em to go fuck himself. Someone like that is nothing but a vampire. They're there to take whatever they can and leave you high and dry.

dude was always kind of a prick, never really thoughtful or nice. but he was my boy from way back you know? like one of my first friends ever. gradually as our crew started smoking, tripping, rolling, nodding, and tweaking this guy started becoming very selfish with everything. any and everything he did was weighed in how much gain he would get out of it. whether it was gas money for driving, weed, getting him high, whatever. he was the type to never do anything just out of the goodness of his heart. and eventually it dawned on everyone in our crew one by one that this kid was a fucking asshole and we should be done with him. and it took prolly nearly 10 years but nowadays not one of us talks to the dude. last time I saw him he sold me a lawnmower for 80 bucks, then 2 months later called me asking for "that other $40 for the lawnmower" that we "talked about" and he told me his MOTHER was mad because SHE didnt think that 80 was enough. I know for a fact that dudes mom makes bank and could give a fuck about $40. so he was trying to scam me out of cash for dope STILL.

anyway, I could rant for days about this dude. so it strikes a real nerve in me when I see it happening to someone else. FUCK THAT GUY is all I can say.

Ok I should have been on awhile ago for advice.....its been 4 years with 3 being that friend in need...of everything.but everything is never good enough.this is the last straw.im done.i felt bad for this person because my dad had passed in my arms of cancer, at the time we met I was blind to the selfishness, but this along with a lot of other issues shows me,he will never b happy ever with anything.I just never thought money mattered that much when ive taken care of this persons soul as far as im concerned.thanx for your response ...very much appreciated that you and everyone took the time.

My bestfriend started growing about 3 years ago. At the time I told him, be prepared... You are going to give people free weed of excellent quality and somehow you will find them getting pissed with you. It is crazy but absolutely true. You give someone a bag of free high-quality buds, and somehow, someway these idiots find some way to figure you are screwing them for not giving them more...

He reminded me of that conversation just recently when his next door neighbor moved in his new girlfriend and instead of asking for a joint a day, he started asking for 2 a day. Buddy told him no, and he got all pissed like he was screwing him over...

While pot size certainly plays into over-all yield, it is only one of many.
For the size of my grow box and size of my light, 3 gallon is all I need. Anything larger is just taking up excess room in my grow box without really making a difference in total yield. I can basically get 4, 3 gallon plants, or 3, 5 gallon plants. The 4 will yield better than the 3 even though the 3 might be a bit bigger each.

Wait and see what you pull off next round when those roots have loads of space. Pick yourself a good strain or even several to figure out what your want to run. Yeah those buds look great. Not to mention frosty. Sounds like your friend is going to try and swindle you on your arrangement somehow.
Lets look at this from a $ perspective. He guestimated 2 zips per plant. 8 plants = 16 ounces. So right there is a pound.
I'm not sure as to whether your trics were clear, milky or amber. But like I said those buds look nice and frosty. You mentioned he smokes a load of weed. With people like that it really doesn't matter. They have such a high tolerance it isn't even funny. And anyone who's going to judge smoke by drying it on a light bulb doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. That's right up there with microwaving buds and sticking them in an oven to quick dry em.
As far as smell is concerned the odor will die down when drying. A nice cure will bring it right back out. Even a 2 week cure makes a world of difference in taste and smell. It's like night and day.
So what was your entire set up anyways? Lighting, medium, nutes. How long did you veg? Did you train em and or top them? Just let em go natural?
They look good. Especially for a first grow. I'd tell your friend to suck a fat one and have no further dealings with them after everything is said and done. Then do your own thing.

i vegged a little less than 2months.i used a hortilux hps 1000watt.i use nutes called biovega and bioflora..organic supposably.and also used mollasass.i used a grow medium i get from ironlegends.and i fimmed some of them..removed fan leaves 4weeks into flower.started using ppm meter at the end .now i have ph up down cal mag and a few others..i have big budxnorthern light,violator kush, vannilla kush, afghan kush x skunk, purple diesel,cherry berry, pineapple chunk,b-13 medical growing now.and hollay!!getting huge.big bud x northern light gonna b amazing.

Why did you remove the fan leaves? Never remove leaves. Photosynthesis will not happen otherwise. Removing leaves to make light for bud is not the right way. If thats what you are thinking. Manipulation by bending and tying down,Super cropping etc to open up lower sites is best. I scrog and remove all lower shoots but keep as many fan leaves as possible. Removal of fan leaves that are healthy will decrease your final yield. Buds that never see the light of day will still form into buds if the plant has enough leaves to support a healthy plant. The flowers don't support the plant. Its the leaves that support the plant that produces the flowers.
