  • I use the 6" blocks and I flood about 2 " high . They will soak up like a sponge so no need to flood all the way up . you will probably only need to water once a day at first . Stay at 1/4 strength on the nutes for a couple weeks and then go to 1/2 . Ease into it . If the tips start to look burned , back off the nutes .
hey man im switching into my tray tomorrow morning should i have it flood and completely submerge the rockwool or just get it like 3/4 and should i put 1/4 str nutes in and ease them onto more and more every week when i change the water or add straight nutes to ease it up to 1/2 one day and 3/4 another
Yeah man thanks! This is my first grow and the whole process has been awesome... especially since flowering started.
damn i put pantyhose on the end of the duct i ran out the wall to prevent bugs and i stil got little white bugs crawling around in there and there was a fuckin cricket in there tonight =/ gotta figure out how to prevent bugs from getting in, and any ideas on how to get rid of the present ones?
wait to feed them nutes till you get them in the tray and then go like 1/4 strength to begin with. Wanna ease into the food . As for when and how much of each , there is a feed schedual on GENERAL HYDROPONICS.COM that works great .
Hey man should I start using nutrients as I hand water the seedlings or should I wait till they get a little bigger and use them in my ebb and flow and as for the gh 3 pack when should i use each (micro, bloom, and grow) and also when should I use liquid koolbloom and last but not least, on the basic applications table on the bottle it says tsp/gallon and underneath are 5 numbers, 1/4, 1, 3, 2, 1 how do I decipher this inyo my measuring cup
the easiest way to tell how much water you need is to do a dry run . Fill the reservoir with ten gallons and run the pump . If everything looks good then all is OK . If the water looks low . add more water . Always remember...if the water gets too low . you WILL burn out the pump .
for sure the fitting doesnt fit on the pump i have, the 185 so i went 3/4 to half then into the fill so alls well now, but the guy at the hydro store reccomended i just hand water them until i switch them to the rockwool blocks and then use the ebb and flow, and alright would 10 gallons work also and change it every week, otherwise i can do 15 np
wow , my pump came with like three different fittings . When ready , I would fill the reservoir all the way . That will be less times you have to mess with the nutes to refill .
If you have to , I bet the hydro store will have your fitting for less than a dollar .
awesome and im setting up the reservoir right now and the pump i have doesnt look like it has a fitting for a 1/2" hose, and how full should i fill the reservoir
I wouldn't worry about the carbon filter until you are ready to start to flower. They won't smell for a while . It's gonna start to get exciting from here on out . Nothing like looking back and smoking your own chit. You will see , hydro is easier than soil . With hydro , there is nothing missing because you put everything you want in there yourself . I always hear about the soil guys having some kind of defiency or another . Then they don't know what to add . When you harvest , the rockwool block is easy to throw in trash . Good luck !!
hey bro im soaking my rockwool plugs almost ready to plant into them, should i even bother with a carbon filter for my veg tent or just put an inline fan in for new airflow
i would love to but my dad put my things in the ditch and my camera got wet
but there pretty nice there not for sure girls there not flowering yet
    but i have high hopes
alright good information thanks, ill pick up some plugs tonight as for feeding them, do you mean add 1/4 strength nutes to the reservoir
DO NOT UNWRAP THE ROCKWOOL BLOCKS . This will keep algea from growing on them . If you are going to start from seeds , your can buy these plugs called Rapid Rooters. They are round plugs that are for germinating seeds and they will pop right into the hole on the Rockwool blocks. They work awsome . Not too expensive . Your hydro shop should have them . If you ask them , they might have a few singles so you wont have to buy the whole bag . Once your seeds pop out , you put them into the blocks and you will never have to transplant . When you put the babies into the blocks , feed them only 1/4 strength on the nutes to start off with . As for germinating the seeds , you have to check the site as I am spoiled and start with clones .
Awesome i just have to set up and cut my ventilation and ill be good to go my closet is 7 feet by 3 feet 4 inches by 10 feet i have 2 gl 60s but i wanted to try to return one of them and get a flowering room, if possible should i return 1 of the gl 60s, i want to set everything up before because the ventilation is going right out the side of my house and im just gonna stick a dryer vent on it and pant it. as for the instructions looks pretty easy should i try to unwrap the rockwool and i wish i had some clones man haha, i'm in Arizona so i'm doing seeds and what do you mean by plug but cool deal should i germinate in a cup of water and 2 hours will be sufficient? the guy at the hydro store told me it was vital to soak them for at least 24 hours prior
Also by not using hydroton or slabs , you have the freedom to move the plants around as you like . Turn them , rotate them , what ever you want . Move as you see necessary to take full advantage of the light. You're ready to grow bro.
Will you be starting from clones or you going for the full experience by starting with seeds . I like clones because they are plentyful here.
Before you plant the first girls , it is important to soak the rockwool blocks in PH netural water for about two hours.
The blocks will have a hole in the top . Just place clone with plug in here or seedling in a plug. does not have to fit perfect . just be in there.
