Huge disappointment in Second Generation Genetics - Einstein’s Pipe… nanners galore

that’s very generous of you, thanks But I’ve got a few other cultivars on deck I’m looking forward to and after this experience I’m going to want a break from anything blueberry or goji just in case My personal stash couldn’t sustain two consecutive seeded runs

Huge disappointment in Second Generation Genetics - Einstein’s Pipe… nanners galore

you’re looking at week7 from flip, maybe 5-6 weeks of actual flowering

Huge disappointment in Second Generation Genetics - Einstein’s Pipe… nanners galore

ugh The irony here is that I thought the family connection to the original blueberry used for the cross made the more appealing for its legitimacy. maybe I would’ve had better luck with a Dutch passion fauxberry cross

Huge disappointment in Second Generation Genetics - Einstein’s Pipe… nanners galore

id ballpark 50% of the tops I flip over to check their undercarriage have a nanner hiding under the budlets right at the joint. 2 plants and both are doing the same. Veg’d for 6 weeks, topped twice, had a week of no-touch between the second topping and flip. Running in an rdwc with a bluelab...

    Washing hydroton

I just dump a gallon of 35% h2o2 into my ~30gal RDWC, effectively making an ~1% mix, and let that run for a week as part of my cleaning cycle. Hydroton will get salvaged as much as possible from the root balls, given a quick rinse, and put into buckets with a few gallons of the 1% mix I scoop...

Supplemental UV, how do you schedule yours and when do you start using it?

no doubt a lot of bs, and “bro science” from our peers, and manufacturers awash with inflated and deceptive claims in this niche. takes some effort to weed through it all for sure

Supplemental UV, how do you schedule yours and when do you start using it?

my nute line also provides recommendations but if I followed that without asking around for alternate opinions my plants would be burnt as shit ‍*shrug*

RDWC PH typically goes up or down ???

I’m getting the weirdest, but reliable, ph trends on res changes. I was chasing the ph and found that what I really needed to do is sit back and ignore the first 24-36hrs after a res change and then make any adjustments for example… new res comes in at like 6.7. I dont touch it 12 hrs later...

Supplemental UV, how do you schedule yours and when do you start using it?

aside from the increase in oil production it’s limiting effect on height and stretch has me curious, I have a 4x4 “Shorty” tent so every decision I make ends up factoring in how to minimize height. so far I’ve kind of settled on turning it on at flip and running it the full 12 hours of ”on time”...

Supplemental UV, how do you schedule yours and when do you start using it?

yeah it’s the HLG 30 UVA when you say “right off the bat” are you talking about at flip or even during veg?

Supplemental UV, how do you schedule yours and when do you start using it?

At the very least I see people turning it on for the last few weeks a couple hours a day, but considering it’s effect on limiting stretch I’m tempted to turn it on as early as possible. on at flip seems like it would be a safe bet. anyone veg with uv? How does that go if so?

EC levels variation when transitioning from top feed to roots in water?

I’ve only made a few posts here but you’re always there with a response, i appreciate it. last post I had was about the need for cal mag when using tap water with a native ppm of ~120 (500 scale, ~0.2 - 0.3 EC) and now that I’m skipping it entirely it free’d up some ppm for NPK. I’m assuming...

EC levels variation when transitioning from top feed to roots in water?

After a few grows under my belt in my current RDWC I’ve come to learn that practically every single online “guide” to EC levels wants me to way over feed my plants. I do only veg for about 4 weeks, and run a chiller, a Venturi, waterfall returns, lots of DO, basically everything that helps the...

Questions about EC levels in hydro, interpreting EC rise, and native EC from tap

high DO levels will prompt lower desired EC levels too won’t it? I think I’ve picked that up recently. and my set-up is modeled after the Medgrower1 rdwc from YouTube with the waterfalls into the buckets (adds DO) running from a Danner with a Venturi intake (adding DO) over top of 5” air stones...
