I did something similar to whats shown in the link Jack provided. The flanged 6" duct starter was about $5 at Home Depot and came with a foam gasket...I love the metal duct tape for light sealing...another $5. I've got the inline fan mounted to the starter pulling thru the duct & light behind...
I can't figure out how they're getting in either but every morning there's 1 or 2 in there.
It started with a couple minor skirmishes against their scouts then a few days ago I encountered a 3-bee recon patrol attempting to establish a forward observation post on the high ground of the duct...
5x5 = 25sft x 8 = 200cuft / 250cfm [lowest flow] = 0.8 mins...so you're changing the air inside every 0.8 mins, or about 50secs.
I'd say you do but I'm no expert...and the air is only going to move as fast as your highest cfm rating...
The battle continues...as if my own ineptitude wasn't enough now I must battle nature as well. Somehow wasps keep getting into the bud room!
Of course, it's not like I don't already have a viable, living ecological insecticide biosphere complete with its own food-chain and predator/prey...
yup! and really heavy crystal...looked like the buds had been rolled in powdered sugar. The one I grew out was sistered with a Sour Diesel and the difference was visually noticable all throughout the grow.
I couldn't tell you which is 'correct' with d and e but when I had my 6" CT in my small bathroom setup I used option D and it did ok.
My new 1000w setup I went with option E, pulling in from one window, thru the light and out the other window, with a separate room exhaust and the light does run...
Yea...the "aka Grape Stomper BX"...now, I can't say with 100% certainty that the strain I have is in fact that one, but I'm satisfied that it is. A grower/friends kid "accidentally" germ'd her stash of fem seeds she had been getting online and put her over-count...so she gave me several...
I've got that same light and always kept it about 8-12" above. It is a hot little light but it works pretty damn good.
I got a couple 4" computer case fans and an old answering machine power adapter and made a fan kit that mounted to the light & ballast vents that helped with cooling. and 6...
i'm no pro grower but I've done basically the same as you....every piece of equip that draws power, w/ exception of my radio is calculated by kWh cost, per hour, daily & monthly. I also track water & soil costs to arrive at a cost per gram $ figure...I needed to know hehehe I've also broken it...
Here is the link to the kit I'm using...select your desired wattage & hood...
Originally I got the 400w cooltube kit w/ just the simple reflector it comes with...kit was $190 delivered last fall including the add-on 6" fan
I just upgraded to the 1000w kit w/ the air-cooled hood in Feb...was...
Miracle-Gro tastes like chicken and Shultz tastes like Mashed Potatoes...I started adding the Big Bud because it smells like Cherry Pie in the can...we'll see...
Yea...you know I don't flush...
Theres a few different mfg's...no idea which is better. A couple nice things about them is they are a corded ballast, separate from the light fixture...mine has a 15' cord and they run a lot cooler as well so you don't have that additional heat in the grow box with the light.
They're also a...
