Just starting week 8 bloom with Barneys blue cheese in soil I'm gonna let them go for 9 weeks I was wondering would you guys flush for the last 2 weeks or just the last week?

I like to use a high phosphate, low nitrogen and potassium formula for the last few days. I personally don't see the point of flushing, but I do lower the overall nutrient concentration toward the end.

I'm not sure what the best way really is. Most people will say they can't tell the difference.

Yep,just feed straight pH'd water for the last 1 to 2 weeks to allow the plant to use up any stored up food it has in it's leaves and rootzone.

If you want a super clean product you need to flush 3x the pot size 5 gal pot gets 15 gal of water. I take a kids pool 2 wks before harvest put plant on milk crate run 15 gal and suck up water w shop vac. Then I straight water for final week. takes 2-3 days to dry after this treatment. seems to work well. I do prefer a clean tasty product.

bullshit!!!!!

only those who hammer nutes and other shit into their grow need to flush. I flushed my 1st grow, then didn't my 2nd grow. no change in flavor or anything. but again, I don't hammer nutes in my plants.

So... You are going to "...let them go for 9 weeks..."

What does that even mean?

You are going to harvest on an Arbitrary Day? and not when you plant is done?
Is that what you are saying?
And I must ask, why would you even think you know the harvest day, if you have not grown this strain before?

I would advise, anyone [not picking on you]....
To let their plant finish.... before they decide to flush, or not flush...

You grow one plant at a time.... so do others....
If you have a 15 gallon "smart pot" and you flush it according to the manners said above, where are you going to put the 45 gallons of dirty water?

Flushing is a myth.... there are many other MJ growing Myth's....
Here's a couple more:

Aluminum foil on walls kills your plants....
Clear pots makes your roots rot....
Two days of darkness before you flip to 12/12....

MJ growers have many great ideas to help grow their buds bigger....
Most "Grow Big" stuff, is just someone trying to take your money....

Say, I grow, "SOG" style, and I have 300 small plants I run through my system per year....
I'd be flushing a plant a day almost... that sounds like a colossal mess, and water logging situation....
and pretty much a 300+ hour waste of time...

Next time grow two plants.... Flush one.... Keep feeding the other.... you'll see.... you'll see....

Where do these myth's actually come from? As far a flushing, quite a few of the breeders say to flush, D J Short, Swerve, Soma, etc. I sent a question to Danny Danko on High Times Free Weed about flushing, it is on Episode 57, and his answer is to flush, rather using organic or synthetic nutes. I guess it is a personal preference.

You're definitely gonna want to flush if you use non-organic nutrients (all bottle nutes) unless you want to smoke chemicals.

You forgot my other fav's: de-chlorinating your water and defoliating to increase yields

..and what about all the seed starting myths

...I'd also throw in all the organic hocus pocus except its hard to argue with anyone that is picky about what goes in their lungs,...i don't buy it, but can't fault someone for not taking chances

just give it water flushing imo is for correcting your f ups like oh crap i just realized i put too much ferts and now i have to flush them out.not lets water board my plant so i can believe its clean.

Miracle-Gro tastes like chicken and Shultz tastes like Mashed Potatoes...I started adding the Big Bud because it smells like Cherry Pie in the can...we'll see...

Yea...you know I don't flush...

Flushing is not a myth.

Foil on your walls will not kill plants but rather create hot spots and has a poor reflectivity.

Clear pots do not make your roots rot but rather allow algae to bloom which eats nutes and doesn't allow full uptake by the roots.

Got any more?

I agree with H R Puff N stuff, makes the most sense. Drowning your plants in water, opens up the door for a lot of other problems. I myself go with straight water between each feeding anyhow.

A flush of 3x the medium is only for nutrient toxicity, and should be done with 1/4 strength nute solution.

A proper harvest flush is jist plain pH'd water at normal watering levels, not 3x the medium.

This is ignorant. All matter is made up of chemicals. Humans didn't invent nitrates, phosphates, potassium, calcium, etc. All of chemistry is natural.

Being "organic" doesn't exempt your grow from chemicals, it just means you're oblivious to which you use. (hint: soil is high in aluminum) Science becomes voodoo. Instead of N-P-K, it's worms-shit-piss.

You're definitely gonna want to flush if you use non-organic nutrients (all bottle nutes) unless you want to smoke chemicals.

Synthetic nutes are usually high in heavy metals so you would want to flush.

With 100% organics the plant only eats what it wants when it wants it.With synthetic nutes, the plant feeds everytime you feed, and any left over salts from the ladt feed are also taken up by the roots when you water with plain water.
