Mine took 5 to 7 days BF! Anything over 10 days would be considered a bad seed. Most will show in 5 to 7 days. First couple days the seed will soak up water and then germinate. 3 through 5 days or so it will make it above ground depending on how far down you buried it.
What I like to do is fill the pot with soil mix and then slightly pack it down and level. I do this because if you don't when the water hits the air gaps in the soil the seed can fall farther down into the mix and never make it above ground. Once I slight pack the soil, not to much, just firm it up a bit. I then take a pen or pencil and poke a small hole in the dirt no more then an inch, I try to make it a half inch down. Plop the seed in and just cover it with loose soil and tap once or twice softly with your finger. and then add just a little water. Remember you don't need a lot of water just enough to soak the seed. So a half cup or so will do it.
