Romulan(photo), Blackberry Moonstones(auto)

Here starts my 5th grow. Like my 3rd, I'm doing a photo and an auto in my 32"x32"x60" tent.
- 2x100watt LM304H LED lights
- red cup start, 3gal fabric pots
- recycled soil flushed, and cooked with Epsoma Organic Starter Plus

White is the Romulan; white rom sounds like white ramen, which ramen sort of is lol. Brown seed is Blackberry Moonstones. Dropped them in the cup last night. I got a weekend trip, so regardless if they pop, they're going in the red cups tomorrow.

My plan is to run 18/6 for 2 weeks, 20/4 for 8 weeks, then decrease light hours while increasing ppfd. It worked out well last time; harvested the auto right as the photo(4weeks into flower) started to need the whole tent.

Man, I just harvested 222 (discontinued) from Brothers Grimm, which was Airborne x Romulan. Smells effing insane.
I started been eyeing the Romulan packs, and while I am not in a position to drop a c-note on a pack of seeds, I could really be talked into getting a pack of their testers.

The more I read/watch about the strain, the more I salivate. I cannot wait to see your results!

Damn Rom never sprouted... So only the BlackBerry Moonstones is going.

Nice tight spacing. Got 1 - 100watt at 50%, almost 2' away, and 220ppfd.

Soil currently is just the recycled soil after last grow. I always flysh A LOT after a chop, and tear/cut the leaves and small stems to mix back in. Makes for a rich black soil that is gradually increasing in volume each grow. I would love to actually test a cup of dirt to see the nutrient breakdown.

Week 2 | Day 15

I had this thought that running both my lights(100watt) at 30% side by side instead of one at 50% centered will provide equal light, but the plant will then know it can grow wide without concern since the ppfd canopy should be wider/more even. Bro science talking to me. But she's under roughly 290ppfd, not 220.

Week 2 | Day 16

She grew decently last 2 days. This is inly my second grow so one thing I remember is there's 24-48 hr periods that they grow phenomenally! Hope to capture some of that. This is also the first time I'm able to give all tlc + 200watts to an auto.

Week 3 | Day 17

Went ahead and transplanted her to her final 3gal fabric pot. And I think I timed it perfectly! I kept the PPFD at 310 for potential transplant stress. Though I think she's ready for 400.

Sprinkled the the hole with good ole root hormone. The soil was still damp from the prep I do: mix in nutes 1-2 weeks before tranplant and water to get the microbes moving and soil "living". So I didn't water since my theory is the roots will be encouraged more to grow to find water.

EDIT: just realized my previous post says "week 2 | day 16" lol

She took the transplant just fine! I'm still waiting for the bad transplant/stunted growth experience; but luckily so far I've never had a bad transplant. Turning the lights up to 50% for 400-410ppfd.

The next pic is to show the internodal spacing. My lights are about 20" away, and these nodes are still tight!

PXL_20250807_212743820.jpg
One thing I've noticed with auto's is they start growing node shoots super early compared to photoperiods that just grow tiny nubs that become either male or female after flipping to flower.

This is also my first grow using both lights on low for one plant compared to one light and the n adding the second only late into flower. I imagine it should help the girl grow better having more consistent PPFD coverage.

Another node decently grown

Man it kills me how much the temp goes up when the fan isnt in there. I can only imagine before LED's; really would've needed a decent setup.

Week 4| day 22

I'm updating a lot but I'm super happy with the growth. My last 4 grows have helped immensely with applying read knowledge over the last 8 years. I thought I'd need to water now, but lifting the pot, still heavy! So put maybe 3oz(half my coffee cup) around the center incase most of the weight is where roots haven't reached and she needs a little gulp.

PXL_20250811_221452741.jpg
Temps are 76, rh 40%, good. I'm almost nervous at how tight the nodes are(had budrot once). But I'm growing this one all natural. Always applied LST and topping before; thought how each of those can delay growth and I only got about an oz n half left. So I'm wanting a quick, healthy, natural grow.

Week 4| day 24

Still smooth cruising. Though, I did notice some yellowing tips. Makes me wonder if the soil is too nutrient rich for the auto, even though I only put 3/4ths the bag dose instructions. So gonna research that and cross reference it with my grow specifics. Able to keep the temps nice and low now too!

Week 4 | Day 27

Finally gave a modest watering ~ 48oz, yesterday. Happy so far. I also raised the lights to almost their max height and got the ppfd around 450.

I'm thinking I may flush when I start to see flowering start. In the past, the 2nd to 4th week of flower is where I always run into some poor growth, sometimes stunting. So perhaps a flush and having legit Cal/Mag for plants now - compared to using tums and epsom salts, will make the difference

I decided to include this video link because I am BLOWN AWAY! with what it can turn into :weed:

EDIT: Makes me wish I had a 7 gallon fabric pot to transplant into. When I think of all those budsites, the nutrients they're gonna need to reach their best...my noggin tells me its going to be sucking the nutes and water like crazy during early-mid flower. I honestly believe the 3 gallon girl is going to inhibit her potential. But idk if people transplant an auto at this point successfully without terribly messing up the flow state.

hahaha. We have a cold wave coming due to a polar vortex moving south. So it'll hit the 50's outside. I believe in fresh air, and I know colder temps can pull colors - and affects, out of strains. So I'm considering keeping the AC at lowest possible and leaving windows open. Flash the girl with some chilled temps compared to the norm. Even with say 58 degrees blowing in, the lights tend to keep the tent 6-10 degree's hotter than room temp, so she'll be around 64-68.

Week 5 | Day 35

Simple update. My lights(2x100watt 301H) were 18.5 inches from the top, and with the tight node growth:
PXL_20250824_025805280.jpg

I raised the lights another 5.5 inches to roughly 2'. Lights turned up to max from 70%. The PPFD is 495, was around 600. I've also experienced drooping just of the evening about 2 hrs before bedtime. Been running 20/4, so the drooping tells me(since everything else seems perfect), that she doesn't need/want that many hours of light - reduced to 18/6

I'm hoping with the light lift, lower PPFD she'll stretch a little more lol. If I got grenade fat nugs gaurantee they rot on me , stretch baby stretch!

Week 6| Day 37

Man, not only is she growing easy and bountiful, she is the stinkiest yet out of 5 strains I've grown. She smells as much as most the plants I've grown smelled at like week 5/6 of flower where you got your spike tops as I call them - barely any plant material to budsites, but tons of stigmas standing out.

PXL_20250827_220439709.jpgPXL_20250827_220452422.jpg
There is some reddening/browning of leaf tips, and the lowest, oldest leaves are contorting. Now I'm taking the lowest leaves dying as they've just fullfilled their purpose and the plant is doing its own de-leafing. Started seeing the starter stigma pairs EVERYWHERE maybe Sunday, so maybe thats the first sign of needing some flower nute top dressing
PXL_20250827_221021657.jpgPXL_20250827_221012677.jpg

Gonna troubleshoot these visual symptoms. You'd think after all the hours of research and years of effort I'd know off the dome immediately lol

Week 6 | Day 39

She's doing great! Gone for the weekend so hope she does well. I top dressed with pride lands(2 -5.5 -5.5) 2tbsp, the watered. Bag said 2-3 so always 1/2-3/4ths dosage till i see a need for more.
