Filters are rated for single pass. So if you put a 400 cfm fan with a 400 cfm filter the air will basically shoot right on thru the carbon and hardly filter it. Getting a filter that is rated double the amount your fan pulls will clean the air better at a slower rate. The air has more time to...

Remember to double the cfm of your fan. I have 400 cfm fans so my go to would be the 6 x 39 800 cfm filter. Nice long filter for the air to travel thru.

I use paint strainer bags. They have there own elastic band on top but I still wrap the bags with large rubber bands to keep them nice and tight. I've found 1, 2 and 5 gallon sizes on Amazon. So far the small bubble hash squares are working great on my 1/2 gallon pots. Nothing getting thru...

Filters are rated @ single pass thru. This means that your filter @ 240 cfm is not enough for your 197 cfm fan. You need double the filter cfm compared to your fan cfm in order to work well and block odor. A 400 cfm filter will work fine for you with that fan. Or get a 120 cfm fan :cool:
