    Fungus gnat experiment #569

Problem solved for you maybe. Problem not solved for others as you can see by all the evidence above. Read Star Dog's posts and you see the proof right there. Bugs coming out of thin air? Nope. It's an ongoing battle throughout the whole grow.

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

We have our answer. Now how to stop it. What do we do as soil users? I don't think it matters what medium we use. The eggs are in there already. Either companies are not doing what they are saying or the bugs are getting in there later and laying eggs. This is what my hydro store guy says...

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

Good deal man. I still am searching for where these bugs come from and where they like to hang out. I'm almost 100% sure that they come from the soil. Most likely in egg form. They hatch, and if they are close enough to the bottom, top or sides of the dirt in the pot, they crawl out. I find...

    Rusting leafs?

Dude, you test your ppm when you make your food. When you mix your nutes into the water you test the ppm to make sure it is good enough to feed your plants. Then you test your ph. I have no clue who told you to test your runoff ppms. I have no clue who told you to flush. AND now it's the...

    Rusting leafs?

Your tap is fine. That's about average. I never test runoff. It never gives you an accurate sample. Who told you to flush and WHY? I was already concerned they were over watered and now you flushed them with more water. Now they are saturated with no food at all. I'm a bit confused about what...

    Rusting leafs?

Looks like you were doing very well and suddenly these popped up over the last few days. Am I correct? Did you transplant recently? Why are you adding iron? It's in the food you are using. If you didn't transplant recently then you have run out of food from your soil a long time ago. 1/4 tsp per...

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

I have a big grow. I need a lot of soil. If I had to "cook" all my bags of soil I would never get my other work done

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

Here are the babies I planted last week. They are now 2 weeks old. There are a few flyers here and there but NOTHING at all on the bottoms and I found 2 or 3 crawling on the top of the soil which were all top sprayed asap. There are no larvae on the leaves and I am totally clean there. The...

I am very happy this election is over for you humans. Hopefully you all don't kill each other and finish ruining my planet. We will then be forced to finish you off and be rid of you once and for all. We may forgive you tho if you pick Giorgio Tsoukalos for your next president. All of us living...

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

Filters are rated for single pass. So if you put a 400 cfm fan with a 400 cfm filter the air will basically shoot right on thru the carbon and hardly filter it. Getting a filter that is rated double the amount your fan pulls will clean the air better at a slower rate. The air has more time to...

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

Remember to double the cfm of your fan. I have 400 cfm fans so my go to would be the 6 x 39 800 cfm filter. Nice long filter for the air to travel thru.

    Carbon filters...life span and refurbishing?

You don't need help. You need a better filter. It's a shame they stopped making Phresh filters in America. The only filter I would go with right now if you live in the states are Phat filters.

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

I use paint strainer bags. They have there own elastic band on top but I still wrap the bags with large rubber bands to keep them nice and tight. I've found 1, 2 and 5 gallon sizes on Amazon. So far the small bubble hash squares are working great on my 1/2 gallon pots. Nothing getting thru...

    Fungus gnat experiment #569

Well I'm not saying this experiment failed quite yet. I've only sprayed the plants 2 times so far and tonight will be my 3rd spraying with the Capt Jacks. The leaves are really great looking and I don't see any larvae or leaf damage anywhere on the plants. I will spray 2 more times after tonight...

Why doesn't help carbon filter in my tent smell?

Filters are rated @ single pass thru. This means that your filter @ 240 cfm is not enough for your 197 cfm fan. You need double the filter cfm compared to your fan cfm in order to work well and block odor. A 400 cfm filter will work fine for you with that fan. Or get a 120 cfm fan
