Medical Grow (I've got mad questions)

I have a medicinal card and in my state it allows to cultivate 12 plants.. Doesn't a plant need 60 - 65 days minimum to flower? In Maine there is an incidental amount over and above the "useable amount" but as far as I know my home state does not. Leaving you helplessly skating a fine line...

what do u think of this cfl ?

I would add (3) 23w 2700k CFLs minimum and try to surround the middle/bottom area with more light. You want every leaf of the plant ideally to receive 3,000 lumens and be no more then 3 inches away from a light bulb as long as temps aren't a problem..

    Stones Journal

I stopped reading when he said he can smell out which plants are male and female in veg.. Sometimes saying nothing can go a long way. I like the idea of your box but I hate the lighting. Those CFLs are too hot and horrible in the lumens per watt area. The thing you have going for you is the even...

what do u think of this cfl ?

6400k is fine for veg but not ideal for flowering. Look for a 2700k bulb for flower. I would have gone with 2 of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120499310592

    Lumens Per Watt

I know what your saying but believe me the lights you have all the way on the left are not going to provide much intensity all the way to the right. The 8 bulb T5 bulbs are so close together, there is not an inch of space that is not within good intensity range of ALL 8 bulbs. I swear you would...

    Lumens Per Watt

And is that a complete setup or do you still need 2 110v to E27 lamp plugs and 2 Y's? Does that include a reflector? To reach 40,000 lumens you would need 5 bulbs, plus 5 reflectors, plus the adapter plugs etc.. Performance can't be compared unless as I said before, your using a very small grow...

    Lumens Per Watt

That still doesn't beat the 92.59 lumens per watt you get with HO T5's.. Not to mention the significantly reduced heat. Like up to 90% less heat.. CFLs cost more and provide less.

    Lumens Per Watt

It's also an overly expensive and an inefficient way to setup a grow room of that size. Get a 48" T5 HO, 8 bulb light fixture. It's under $220 including bulbs and will outperform your 680 watts in lumens and the heat will be 80% less. So why would you buy those CFLs? Honest question, why do...

    Lumens Per Watt

higher wattage HPS lighting will give you the most lumens per watt, followed by an eight bulb 48" T5 HO, followed by Metal Halide, followed by CFLs.( higher wattage CFLs give you less lumens per watt then the smaller ones) To make a comparison we will look at 400 watts of power. 400 watt HPS...

    Advise on lighting please!!

the larger CFL fixtures are far less efficient then even a 32w CFL when looking at lumens per watt. If I were you I would look into the 4' 8 bulb T5 HO flourescent fixture. This one is good and produces more lumens then 3 of those 200w CFL's. I think you can find it for less then on this...

    Types of clf's?

I like it but it sounds like your using a lot of watts for less lumens. A single 4ft 8 light HO T5 fixture will give you 40,000 lumens for just 400 watts and will cover a much larger area. If you have the means and the beans to switch to a 8 light HO T5 I would highly recommend it.

    Types of clf's?

From what I understand 2700k will best match the red spectrum for flowering, but you can still flower with 6500k bulbs. Using more blue will actually increase potency through flowering but the offset is diminished yields. Flowering with 2700k will give you fluffy buds where using 6500k the buds...

400w mh and 400w hps for flower?

I would run them both for flower. If I had to choose one or the other I would decide if I want yield, potency, or a mix. The HPS is good for high yield and can still be very potent but HPS can never reach the same potency alone because it doesn't have the same blue and UVB as the MH. I'd go...

Fans, To push or to pull

I've never bought one of these but had thought about it due to the inexpensive cost. http://www.iaqsource.com/product.php?p=suncourt_db6gtp&product=111119 The 6" Fan has 180cfm free air and if you have 2 in one line the boosted fan will have 350 CFM. I was thinking about placing one of...

Would this light work for veg?

They do mean a lot to me and it's pretty cut and dry as far as growing average bud. What I was expecting to get out of this post, and which you failed to deliver is what effect actinic blue light would do for cannabis? I know it has an effect but you can't answer it rookie! You can sit here...

Would this light work for veg?

I'm so glad your telling me to use 6500k bulbs as if I didn't already knwo what to use in a CFL for veg.. Here's a question I have for you. How come LED's are produced and can veg with 420 - 460 nm blue yet you say this bulb won't grow shit, yet it peaks at 420 - 460nm blue? Should I go...
