    Strains you Avoid? and Why?

I think more in terms of dealing with a handful of reputable breeders than searching out strains. There is a chronic lack of standardization and consistency in the naming of strains, largely do to money and hype. Add to this peoples subjective opinions of the effects of a given strain, shared...

Looks like septoria to me. Different plants will tolerate it differently, some will just gets some spots and it doesn't spread much. For me in Oklahoma, it usually determines when I harvest, because it gets on the sugar leaves and kills them back into the buds.

    2024 Massachusetts Outdoor Growers

I have plenty of genetics to work with that I have seen firsthand exhibit resistance. I don't trust most strains to be what they are labeled these days, unless they are from a handful of breeders and I get them directly from those people. It's not like fruits and vegetables, which have been...

Seeing is believing! I learned about Zerotol from some commercial outdoor growers from Colorado, and the buds they were able to achieve outdoors around here, in Oklahoma, turned several grower's heads!

    Septoria Resistant Strains

I knew this was likely to happen, as I have been dealing with this issue 3 of the last 5 summers, and believe me, I have researched and tried everything ! Fortunately, I have a couple of resistant plants and will use them and similar strains to find better adapted genetics for outdoors in my...

    A housekeeping question?

I leave as many leaves as I can, while trying to have good air flow to minimize mold on outdoor plants. The plant will utilize the readily available nitrogen in those leaves as it flowers and they will turn yellow, then you can remove them. The plant knows what to do, just sit back and wait.

Powdery Mildew - What’s your hot take on treatment?

Zerotol will take care of it! I have had friends spray it every other day with no ill effects, once a week is about the most I have had to do and I have even washed freshly harvested bud in it so there were no surprises in the curing jars later on.

It is pretty amazing to see in person how much difference in resistance there can be! Hopefully more people are out there selecting for septoria resistance and share what has worked for them!

    Cannabiscrusader's outdoor 20twenty4

I think more people will start looking for resistant strains, just as in commercial fruit and vegetable growing. I have seen a couple of strains, or at least, individual plants, be very resistant to septoria, so I will be looking at growing and crossing those for my outdoor grows. I'm leery of...

No, it is not bud rot, in the usual sense.

It hasn't rained here in 2 weeks and been 100 degrees about every day, and the septoria seems to have quicken its spread! Just have to focus on the plants that do well and write off the remainder..

    12×7 all organics

Looking good! Just give them a lot of support, because outdoors when the buds fill out, branches can break in the rain and wind!
