    24v vs 48v for Samsung V strips

I learned the hard way on these strips that thanks to politics I will pay 2-3x that much if its imported from China. I bought 14 dollars worth of these strips from them and the order was around 40 dollars total. The tariffs are brutal.

    24v vs 48v for Samsung V strips

I am trying to decide if I should run my v-series strips in a 2s4p arrangement or just run them all parallel at their regular voltage(24-25.5V range). Would there likely be any difference in efficiency? I might have some 24V adapters already, but not proper LED drivers. I have a couple of 48V...

How marijuana has helped you to recover from your illness?

I am pretty sure the answer to that is HEARTBURN. One thing I have learned over the years is that weed helps me stuff more food in than my stomach can normally handle and that has consequences. Cannabis hasn't cured anything that my partner or I have had, but it sure has helped treat many...

    Nutes for biggest buds

I have been doing organic for some time now, but back when I was younger I wanted super soil and basically had the impression that if plants like food then giving them more food in reserve makes tons of sense. Thing is, it actually doesn't. The plant's root system can only handle so much at a...

    Wooden shoes gone wild

I have most of the parts now for my side-lights. I got a deal on some Samsung V-series strips and I am going to run them dimmed on the sides. Still a lot to do in order to get that together, but so far so good. Its looking like we tragically won't have anything to smoke for Christmas. Our...

    Martian method still a thing?

LOL I know right? Seems like a hoax, and maybe it was? I have no idea, but I definitely didn't make it up. I first saw it on Cannabis dot com a while back but that site does not seem to be working anymore(I do have a URL to the page still but nothing comes up for me. I have no idea if the site...

    LED experience needed!

I recently bought a QB96 V2 Elite and I am very impressed by the quality of the board(the heatsink is meh though). If you've ever studied electronics at all, you'd see immediately how quality their boards are. If their other boards are this well-built, then going for HLG is worth it over the...

    Martian method still a thing?

When LED really started to become viable, there was this big hype about something called "The Martian Method", in which very red LED was used 24/7 while bluer light is used on 12/12 to control flowering. The theory is that the extreme end of the red spectrum won't trigger the photoperiod...

Using UV light to lower THC concentrations?

In my state the governor has decreed that any amount of THC at all is unacceptable. The exact allowed amount is a complete mystery, but all the shops are too scared to chance it.

How many COB watts for each plant please?

Those "Nukehead" generic Chinese COB lights can definitely grow weed, but between the cost of electricity(they are 40lm/watt!!!!! according to an actual test report I have on them) and the cost of cooling them; its just not worth it. I used 450 actual watts of them in my recent auto grow and...

    Power Si

I have been using expanded silicon dioxide in the form of dessicant crystals and crystal kitty litter. It turns into sort of a gelatin when it gets wet, but I have no idea how soluble it is exactly. I know my plants have been healthy and bug resistant in a way they never were in the past. I went...

    Do I buy 10 or 175? 2 foot Samsung for 31cents each/40 cents CND

Thanks. For some reason I can't find a data sheet from Samsung on these. They're in a general PDF, but I can't find one about that series specifically. The website now only has data sheets for the newer version of them. I have no idea how I would find data sheets for obsolete strips.....

    Do I buy 10 or 175? 2 foot Samsung for 31cents each/40 cents CND

I noticed the V series runs at 25.5V and not 24V. Do they still run ok off 24V drivers?

The tariffs are terrible right now. They more than double my order cost. WTF

    Overcurrent protection techniques

Wow that QB torture test was interesting. The diodes on the BXEB series are 2835 diodes, which are smaller than the LM561 chips by a little. I have no idea if Bridgelux diodes have at all comparable power handling, but its probably in the ballpark. They're one of the few high efficiency Asian...

    Overcurrent protection techniques

Thanks for the reply. I think that makes sense to me now. Seems like in some ways maybe I am thinking of this backward; What if instead I went for a driver that is just adequate for the load and no more? Seems like worst case scenario then would be that I overload the driver and the fuse pops...

    Overcurrent protection techniques

I have been doing some studying and have learned about thermal runaway.... Do the Bridgelux strips lack internal protection against such? It seems like as long as I keep them cooled well it probably won't be a problem, but it would be good to be sure. I was thinking about adding a CC dimmer of...

    Overcurrent protection techniques

He was a comic artist who drew machines that were absurdly complex compared to the task they were doing..... like a 5000 part machine that folds socks or something.

    CHEAP strip light and cabinet

Great thanks. I plan to run mine dimmed and very close to the plants so I don't need full power anyway. I will check the links out thanks!
