No. Wyeast was the breeder that bred the gear compound uses, but it was all taken out from under him, and turned into what's now known as Compound. Chris was the marketing genius and split ways

I use about the same for 3 gallon pots. I top fill the first until I reach the bottom of a gallon jug handle, then fill the bottom with the rest. I might have a little left over after 2 plants.
