Need Help With a Dr. Meter Lux Meter

Yes. 420 at 100x is 42,000 lux. I've had that meter for several years, it's basically how I dial in my builds.

    Useful Seeds

Here's some of the lineage of that Star Dawg F3 "Major Award" pack from many moons ago. This one here, she's an F4 selection that I managed to procure, still swelling after sixty nights under Da 315w 3100K CHM, mixed(ed) with HLG QB 96 ers(s). Wherever you are Useful, understand you've touched...

    Bxeb heatsink steel

I have. I have BXEB gen1 560mm strips, hanging on a wood rack that have been running at 700ma, in perpetuity, since 2017.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Try it with only 3 boards Frank, see if they light up, let's eliminate a driver failure here. It's a little muddy, I'm late to the party, try 3x QB132 wired in series (+ to - to +) on a 240 C1750.

DIY strip build need help thanks

Increasing the airflow around the surface of the driver is never a bad idea. My drivers are always placed in areas of direct "wind". It will substantially lower the drivers' operating temperature.

    Useful Seeds

The Star Dawg preservation project continues. These are clones at 14 nights, "stemming" from the F4 momma I was able to make from my major award of the Star Dawg F3 preservation pack. I secured a single male so far, from that F4 set, and already produced at least 100 beans, of what I'm calling...

    Eb gen 1

Oh right on, it's already in action!!! Thought you had the strips, but not on a running build. I don't believe you'd even notice if you did upgrade.

    Eb gen 1

I'm still running BXEB Gen1 strips on several fixtures I built almost 4 years ago. Whilst the newer generations offer more efficient output, the Gen 1 will still get the job done. If you're only working with 190(ish) watts in a 2x2, the gains in efficiency would be entirely negligible...

    Defoliation the first few leafs

I do a complete, 100% defoliation on every single plant that I flower. Typically that happens somewhere around day 63 after the flip, just prior to de-stemming the rootball. Amazing results.

    Blinking lights?

Meanwell drivers do have a "hiccup" mode. It can flash like a strobe light, if a fault is detected. Something is triggering that flash, until it heats up. At least that's what it sounds like to me. Could be the driver itself nearing failure, or potentially an intermittent fault somewhere on one...

Looking for LED strips for a DIY build

This ^^^^^ I suppose a less balanced spread than strips, but.....pound for pound (yes pun intended) the QB96 engines offer top value of heatsink/diode quality/spectrum mix, after considering the given driver availability.

    Driver air cooling, worth it?

I strapped Heatsink USA chunks to my drivers with kapton tape. I had a handful of 4"x2" low profile chunks I had originally used with Vero 10 COBs The mini active cooling fans eventually failed, and I smoked a couple COBs at some point. So, the sinks ended up riding drivers. No reason not to.

    Driver air cooling, worth it?

Yeah, sure you do. That's what "we" think. Sorcery of some type going on.

DIY LED strip suggestions for 3x4 room?

Those 560mm Gen1 EBs are 23V each. That HLG-185H-C1050 has 190V, so 8 fits it. They end up coming out to 215W draw, so double that, over an about(ish) 3x6. Usually two plants in 7gallon pots under it. My early builds all were on CC drivers.

DIY LED strip suggestions for 3x4 room?

I don't have any pics of the lights, not sure I've ever took one actually.... That rack, has two blocks of 8x 560mm strips, spread evenly (ish) over a 5' length. Each set of 8, runs on an HLG-185-C1050. Im pretty sure all my BXEB units, are Gen1 versions. I know I built one with Gen2s, but I...

DIY LED strip suggestions for 3x4 room?

This is a mid level side branch, after 50 nights, under 560mm 3500K BXEB Gen1 @1050 ma, on 1/8th" x 3/4" aluminum U channel. That lamp has been running in a perpetual flower area since 2017.
