    So far, I’ve been getting mine “in the wild” and at a local bait store. I’m lucky to have a place out back that holds a lot of worms and I started tossing scraps and such around. I’ve got a ditch that will produce worms with each dig and I get a lot of leaf mold from that area.

    I’ve only got the red wigglers but the Africans look to be some good fertilizer makers. I’m getting some more reds this week.

    I’m looking forward to seeing the results of castings as well but it will be a while. I’ve got to figure out a way to store and save them. I’m going to be well into Fall before storage becomes a desire tho.

    @Wetdog , yea, I’m wishing I hadn’t added the grass clippings now. I’m going to keep an eye that it doesn’t harm anything.

    I’m putting in some coffee grounds and eggshells today and I’ll be adding fruit and veg scraps, more leaf mold, and putting in a little sand today for grit.

    I made this from a tote, basically just drilling a whole bunch of holes for drainage and air. I’ve got about 7 inches of paper and shredded cardboard, grass and clover clippings, a good part of aged leaf mold, and dirt from an old potted plant. Worms are wigglers from a local store.     I’ve read the Teaming With Nutrients” and currently on Microbes. I’ve listened to a couple of lectures by Lowenfells that are good too.
