Pictures of your DIY lights - Post your pics!!!

you guys are making me want to do a video tutorial on tapping..lol. I would if I knew how, no video skills. Its faster than kapton once you get it down lube, lube, and lube. lube the drill bit, the tap, sh@t put a drop in the hole before you tap. Back out when you feel resistance... Glad you...

Run to the LP's...like scared little girls. Be a good dog. Smoke your Kibble.

Typed a bunch of crap but it boils down to this for me.. LP is just another hurdle to legalization. They have as much a chance of owning a market as reversing the mj movement. They have a role to play but its not the whole enchilada. I wouldn't go so far as to demonize people who do choose...

    6 x100w 3590 cobs driven @100%

3590 max is more around 130w. Even at that level I'm able to keep the cobs at around 43c, well within spec. Lifespan SHOULD be longer than you'd want to use them. Problem is...it will probably be more light coming out of one spot than is optimal. Phototropism, yellowing leaves, 40-50c whirlwind...

    CXB3590 1500W

I made a remote driver setup recently. I just put a plug on the driver end and one on the cob end. Extension wire with appropriate ends to connect the light and driver together. Haven't had any problems...better than putting a driver on a hot heatsink. easy push in plugs...stranded wire is more...

Man ! Wouldn't they love to force you.

Somewhere along the line they forgot, or just never knew, a mediocre plant grown at home is more enjoyable than a super plant backed by greed.

Let's Settle this once and for all. (LED's)

"I suspect that the claims of many LED manufacturers aren't supported by reality. The claims would be that they run cool and save you a lot of money on electricity. I am speaking of low end 3 or 5w diode LED's. Not COB's. New growers or people that have not owned LED believe that LED is going...

Thats about it. 2 heatsinks instead of 1 might be better. 10" x 40" will be really heavy, plus the spread of light would be much better. Can just put a plug on the driver instead of splicing...yada yada. With a 5.375" you'd even end up with more aluminum...and more expensive...:p. But, slicker...

Than its much more flexible obviously. I just want to see if I can get a 130w cob to play nicely... I remember Pico ran them hard with good results.... Might just need the reflectors off Still no par meter so I just grow and see what happens...good enough for me..

Don't know much about all that licensing stuff. Little I read it doesn't really seem applicable to this. Although copyright and publishing does seem to fit. I have no idea what they have going on in the box. All I can really say is 100w cobs with optics need more headroom or it's really easy to...

thanks zulu...light should be fine. just keep your warranty and receipt handy is my advice. New heatsinks and design could have problems. Wasn't planning on selling it other than locally as it was meant to be a "open source" design for the diyers. But, if I need to sell a few through the web...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

Just have to wait for full blown legalization if ever. I have a feeling the best herb will come from the best outdoor regions around the world. I'm sure there will be equally impressive indoor stuff. But in general my experience now is outdoor is different. Same strain grown well comes out...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

I can only comment on what I have used. A hortilux 600 hps, flourescent, cheaper hps with redder tint, and various led styles. I would love to try a DE gavita, a philips CMH, plasma, and even induction. Personally the difference I see between well grown outdoor and well grown indoor doesn't...
