VIPAR LED Review (6 months later..)

I've seen harvest reports. But, they're running 50-70w/sq ft. (One was 90w/sq ft). At that point, why not use HPS? Also, some people don't care that they're not getting dense nuggets. They grow their own meds and it's good enough for that. That's what's sensitive about this topic. The 90w guy...

Need tips on how to mount CFL's for side lighting?!?!

This article will give you a lot of inspiration. I mount household LEDs to my tent legs. And, I've made top-light fixtures which work well. You can see it in action in this grow journal.

Switching my socket CFL'S for LED grow Bulbs.

I only use the Cree 9.5w (60w equiv) A19. It works well in the smaller 5-1/2" reflector. If I used the 18w (100w equiv) I would use the taller/wider reflector you mentioned. It's a taller bulb and doesn't fit/reflect well for the 5-1/2". However, the GE 10w (60w equiv) BrightStik produces 23%...

Switching my socket CFL'S for LED grow Bulbs.

For the Cree 9.5w A19, I veg with 3:1 or 4:1 (cool:warm, 5000k:2700k). Flower should be 1:1. (This is what captainmorgan and others, like franjan, used. I have a link to their thread here. I also use some Cree 18w PAR38 floodlights in flower. They are 3000k. I sidelight with 2700 & 5000k. You...

Switching my socket CFL'S for LED grow Bulbs.

Check out the GE 10w (60w equiv) BrightStik. See these threads: https://www.rollitup.org/t/led-for-micro-cab.895005/ https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-post-did-i-buy-the-right-cfls.895218/#post-12214969 On the box, they don't appear to be very efficient. But, the design seems to create a much...

I think it's time to flush

I think the topic of "flush before harvest" or "cleanse (water only) till harvest" (or "diet (weak nutes) till harvest") depends on the nutrients you use and whether overfeed, use a dozen cartoon bottles to salt the plant into oblivion.... I don't think it's a religious absolute. If you have...

    LED for micro cab...

Bad news. Jerry @ Kingbrite only sells the reflectors with COB and holder. (I know, that would be better than screwing around with household lightbulbs. Instead of bad news, that's an opportunity to do something better.). I mentioned three reflectors a couple posts above. Jerry sells this...

    LED for micro cab...

They come in five sizes. I have a few of each. I love them. I got mine on Amazon (link 2/3 down this article). If you break the male end, there is an M8x1.00 male stud (about 3/8" long). Instead of mounting sockets (then screwing the extension into the socket), the extension could be mounted...

    Problem with leaves

Without a precise measurement of the nutrients you fed, it's only guessing. The reason I leaned toward the possibility of overfeeding is because it's common for new growers, and it often appears as salt-buildup in early flower. And, your Ca def looks a little different to me, like a ph problem...

    Crispy Wilting Plants

FWIW: I regularly got 6-7 ounces from Northern Storm Auto in a 3gal container, grown in a 2x2 4' tall space. I bought the seeds from marijuana-seeds.nl .

First Post- Did I Buy The Right CFLs?

Another option is GE 10w (60w equiv) LED BrightStik. They cost only $3.50. I usually use Cree 9.5w LED lightbulbs. They're omnidirectional and maybe 30% more lumens/w than a CFL. But, the GE BrightStick has the LEDs flush-mounted to the base (they all point forward). So, they are directional...

    How close to harvest

I have one of those. The image is nice. But, it's frustrating to use because the image is reversed. (If I want to look up, I have to look down. Sometimes I feel tortured doing that. It's frustrating.). Something I like is this Harbor Freight 16.5x Jewler's Loupe which clips on your glasses...

    Crispy Wilting Plants

Did you seal the tent with the humidifer inside? And have an extaction fan, pulling air out of the tent? It's hard to believe something didn't change.

    How close to harvest

When did you flip to 12/12? I think you should be feeding. And, feeding water only... I don't think you need to do that unless you've been overfeeding. (That's a religious topic. All you can do is try feeding to the end, water only, flushes, etc. Try it all and see if you notice a difference. I...

    nutrient burn?

I don't understand it either. But, there are 3 scales (plus EC). See this chart. If you were using the other scales, then 1000ppm might be like 700ppm (the more common?) scale. But, you're definitely the 0.5 "Hanna scale." (But, don't forget, Hanna makes meters using the other scales. So, never...

    Problem with leaves

I was just thinking, did you mean 1.5 Tabelspoons? (1 tablespoon = 15 ml). That would produce 728 ppm in 7 L. (3.2ml in 1 L produces 728ppm). That sounds reasonable. I feed 20-25% weaker. But, using hydro nutrients in soilless I fed 20-30% stronger.

    How close to harvest

You've got awhile. 2-3 weeks? Get a 40x loupe and watch the trichomes. Look for all milky, maybe a little amber. What lighting are you using? (watts drawn and square feet covered too, if you know). Seems they could dense more and wondering if light is an issue?

    nutrient burn?

Hanna is typically 0.5, but they do other scales too. So, it's confusing when people refer to the "hanna scale" (0.5). The meter he pictured is HM and it is, without a doubt, 0.5 scale.

    nutrient burn?

That's the 0.5 scale, so your PPMs aren't lower than they might be (if it had been the 0.7 scale, for example). I think 1000ppm is pretty high. You can check your calibration by putting 1g table salt in 1 liter of distilled water. That produces 1000ppm.
