    Quality air pump?

Alita and Secoh are good brands. I currently have a Secoh SLL-40 running four eight-inch Alita air stones in the flower room. A pair of those stones are driven by an Alita AL-15A in the veg room. Do NOT buy the Alita AL-6A because the tiny air inlet causes a steady high-pitched whistle that...

Timers that can do 5mins off 2 on???

I prefer the wall mount version with a cord. http://growershouse.com/sentinel-brt-1alr-wm-basic-recycle-timer-low-range-wall-mount These "Autopilots" are great if a person also has a pair of HID lights to control (Sunlight Supply has the same thing with different graphics)...

    Fluence Bioengineering

Very interesting, that bleaching theory. I've encountered bleaching with Lumigrow and assumed it was from the blues. Someone here posted a study that showed bleaching was from excess red. What wavelength will stimulate Xanthophyll? (Xanthophylls (originally phylloxanthins) are yellow...

I googled it but I'm in Seattle and all I got was baseball player Robinson Cano. I thought he was talking about a portable vape. Myself, I'm eating a brownie.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

A number 1 phillips screwdriver works well. I have an assortment of nonconductive pot tweakers but they are not necessary.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

UZ, your A model dims down to 50%; a B model can go down to 10% with external components. I like A models for simplicity.

MechaTronix: MODULED 9950-B LED Star heatsink for 3590?

I am skeptical of Mechatronix, Abiqua. The Giga HBG is only designed to mount a 160W driver (3.3A). Picturing these up high in a factory during the summer . . .

MechaTronix: MODULED 9950-B LED Star heatsink for 3590?

I bought a ten pack of these from CDIweb.com for the CXB3590/CXA3590. I haven't measured flatness but quality looks good. Also bought a ten pack of HBG-90 (1400mA, dimmable) from onlinecomponents.com. Edit: adapter plate required for Giga; direct fit on Mega ModuLED.

Rebuilding a suspect import led cause.....

Homegrown Lights spent a lot of money for custom aluminum extrusions but the only thing worth reusing is a generic heatsink. I've got plenty of that from heatsinkusa.com. And it's not a box: This thing does OK for veg (450nm + 630nm) but it is a heater, uncomfortable to hold your hand on the...

I'd never heard of Roleadro. http://www.amazon.com/Roleadro-Grow-Light-Spectrum-Flowering/dp/B013QLEYTW I recently took apart an old-school Procyon 100 but didn't see any way of salvaging it for a decent COB build.

    Led finally makes its breakthrough

Hey, I know, let's make this an LED vs HID thread! My reason for having $3,000 worth of luminaires in that picture: fire safety, mainly in consideration of a disabled person in the household.
