I've never done it but it makes sense. What ever you do, make sure that the filter is rated for the fan. If the fan is too strong, youlll push unfiltered air through. What are the sizes of tents and how many cfm's is the fan?

Just to add, if you're going to vent one tent into the other, I'd vent the led into the hps. You'll get better cooling that way.
