So it's not watts per sq ft with LED's?

Built like a god damn tank.

Was it worth it!! Cheap Chinese Crap

Remember to double-check the Vf of the Vero29 at the chosen current! at 3000 mA it will need closer to 40v.

    First LED build CXB3590

I have a 200mm round fan on the 7.28" profile and it fits pretty perfectly. 7.28" x 12" with ~180 watts cooled by this fan and the heatsink stays very cool. Doesn't have a shroud on it and the air is still forced through all the channels and flows out the sides.

Definitely looks like the 4k just kicks ass. Wish Digi-key would have grabbed a few of the Vero29 in 4k

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Yay! LSDpower drivers just got here! Shipping took about a week with FedEx international economy. Lighter for scale, cant wait to see them in action!

I would be psyched if I could pull a pound out of my 3x3. This is what I would call my first legitimate grow. Have had several before with little knowledge, and inadequate lighting. But we all have to start somewhere! Very excited. Should be harvesting around mid June

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Should have my LSDpower drivers in a few days! Shipping was a little steep, but if you get enough drivers it makes sense, basically half the price of meanwells. Couldn't stand paying $65 per driver on jameco.

You betcha'! ;) I have a small ~180 watt panel (4 Vero18, 1 Vero29) that needs to be consolidated down to one driver. The older versions of the chips, I think I have seen them called "1.2". Soon to be added 2 'wings' of sorts that will hopefully add about ~280 watts using 4 Vero29 '2.0'...

Damn! Thought they would at least get up to 4000k for the new Vero29's. I guess I will have to go with the trusty 3000k  Going to get a bunch of the Vero13's in 4000k to balance it all out. Should have my LSDpower drivers in soon too! Awesome timing Digi-key.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Ah yes, on the alpine RED is positive and BLACK is negative ;-) POSITIVE goes to the live(hot) NEGATIVE goes to the neutral.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

On the 12v adapter I'm using for a few fans the positive side has writing going down the insulation, while the negative has long white dashes on the insulation. Are there any kind of markings like that? And does the adapter force polarity? (Does it have a larger prong and a smaller prong that go...

Awesome. Just a few more weeks for the Vero29 hopefully! Anyone else getting an error when trying to pull up the datasheet from digi-key?

Highest amperage I'm running through a Vero29 right now is only 1.8 :( Waiting on a dimmable 150w driver that will run a new Vero29 (Once Digi-key gets them :wall: ) at up to 3.57 amps. I want to see how one chip, does with one plant. Should be fun!

    ...All Things Vero...

I think a lot of people are just trying to reach the highest efficiency possible, and that usually comes at the cost of running at a lower amperage. Running at a lower amperage also seems to increase the lumens/w. I love running my Veros hard though :fire: One reason that I went with Bridgelux...

Might be a better idea to touch it with a multi-meter of some kind. But I do see where you are coming from haha.

    HLG-185H-C1050B i got too many

Removing the drivers from the light source is a good way to reduce heat. That being said, the drivers do get warm, so packing a bunch of them in a tight space with no cooling may not be the best idea. 3.5" profile is a great heatsink for both passive and active cooling, and a 90mm fan will fit...

I can't imagine they are much more then the non-dimmable ones. Shoot Todd an e-mail and I'm sure he will give you the low-down ;)

    HLG-185H-C1050B i got too many

They don't have prices listed anywhere from what I can see. I sent an email to toddtang@lsdpower.com (listed on the contact us page) and he got back to me pretty quick. The outdoor drivers are about half the price of the equivalent meanwell driver. $31 for the 200w $29 for the 150w $27 for...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

Which heatsink do you guys think would be better for 140 watts of Vero29 actively cooled with a 140mm fan? 7.280"x14" or 5.886"x20" I like the 5.886" profile because the fan would cover most if not all of the fins, but the 7.280" has a thicker baseplate and is slightly heavier overall. Not...

Check out lsdpower.com, I am about to get a few of their drivers. Very efficient and tons of options. I have had a pretty good experience with their customer service so far also.
