    I think being "obsessed" with plants is a advantageous survival trait that is passed on genetically. Not long ago being obsessed with plants meant a better chance of survival. That "satisfaction of being with plants" feeling is a reward mechanism. It keeps you coming back.

    It is an evolving field. I am sure some labs do better than others and it is not easy to do it correctly. I also dont base my strain choices on lab analysis. Give it a few years. Breeders will be using labs to help in breeding selections.

    I dont flush my plants. That is for you nute-salt based growers. Got to get the salt out. I deal with proteins that breakdown into amino acids like bloodmeal.

    I hang my plants in a dark room @60F and dehumidifier set to 60. I leave it for ~10days or so. What can I do to improve my drying situation?

    I fix the scope so it wont move and set it to rough height. Then use a deck of cards to shim to a sharp image. Take the pic thru software so nothing moves.

    Go to Low Depo's and head over to cleaning supplies. They have these thing that look like night lites. Except they are full of fragrant oil. $5. Plug it in and wait a few moments. Some have a dial to increase oil rate.

    Longtime DIYer. Nice work on a low budget. Somethings I would do if it was my build. Trim up those metal ends, rods and tape them. They will cut me and/or the tent. Tidy up the wires so they dont get yanked. Try some self-tapping metal screws make it easy to put together.

    @ GroErr they really are helpful and make you grow a better garden than you could without. There is also a chill factor included. I am at a movie or club. I check and see everything is "normal". Peace of mind is worth a lot.

    A temp/hum gauge is different than a data logger. I have become a fan because it alerts me when conditions get out of wack. Getting real data about your grow in easy to read graphs. Is more useful than most of the reading you can do on these forums.
