Why spend $$$ on a flowering lamp if you have a $ veg lamp?

I can understand why this makes sense in the mind of someone trying to sell LEDs. I'm not trying to accuse you of anything here, but most people are trying to spend as little money as possible. I can see why to you it's way better business to convert a warehouse of flowering plants than the...

Why spend $$$ on a flowering lamp if you have a $ veg lamp?

You're getting twice as much use out of the veg lamp making the initial investment twice as cost effective as if you were buying the same wattage of a flowering lamp. How is this not a no brainer, especially considering HPS is already decent, but CFL is terrible and the upgrade to LED is so...

Why spend $$$ on a flowering lamp if you have a $ veg lamp?

If you're not running a veg lamp then this obviously doesn't apply to you. "If you have a $ veg lamp"

Why spend $$$ on a flowering lamp if you have a $ veg lamp?

Also, running 24h in veg lets you get the same DLI as 18h using a less powerful (and thus cheaper) lamp.

Why spend $$$ on a flowering lamp if you have a $ veg lamp?

Upgrading flowering first is kind of like paying off your lower interest debt before your higher interest debt just because the higher interest balance is smaller. You should still pay the higher interest debt first regardless of the size of the balances.

Why spend $$$ on a flowering lamp if you have a $ veg lamp?

I see this all the time. Even more experienced growers tend to be looking to switch their flowering room from HPS to LED while their veg room still uses T5 or worse, CFL. You get so much more bang for your buck upgrading your veg room first because you leave the lights on for 18-24 hours per...

    Why T5's instead of LED's?

I've grown with HPS, fluorescent tubes, and LEDs, all in both flowering and veg. You'd think I would have realized after 4 years of using the leds that something is a miss. Nope. Big yields, good plant and bud shape, good resin production, etc. The 3000k 80cri spectrum is amazing. On the...

    Estimate yeild. Any guesses

If you do it all the time, you kind of get a good idea of what you're going to yield.. We just prefer messing around with noobs! No way you're getting close to 1g/W! lol First grow, how much will it yield. Very likely 0.

    Biggest leafs ever?!?

It's trying to maximize surface area to transpire fast enough to take up nutrients. I'd say you're deficient in K, but that's just a guess. Also maybe humidity is too high and temps too low.

    I love being a stoner

Don't use baking soda and citric acid you noob! lol Also, smash those CFLs into sprinkles for your cake.

    Why T5's instead of LED's?

All of them. You're full of shit. T5 is known for having poor spectrum.

I'd say it looks like you're within the harvest window. I'd cut if it was me.

    Why T5's instead of LED's?

Thats about 115 dollars worth of LEDs, 100 dollars in drivers, and 120 dollars in heatsinks if you use the 10"x10" heatsinkusa ones I have. 335 dollars How much can you get a T5 fixture + 8 T5 tubes for? I'm finding anywhere between 200-300 dollars. It really does look grim for T5. The...

    Why T5's instead of LED's?

432W of T5 at @ estimated ~25% gives 108W PAR. There are a lot of ways you could get this, but I'm using gen 7 vero 18 C at 700mA which is estimated ~49% efficient. You'd need 220W of this to get the same PAR. So to answer the question, 11-12x vero 18 at 700mA. There are obviously a lot of...

    Do these trichomes look ready??

I disagree with this. Triches are a poor indicator of ripeness.

Hydro growers, stop looking for calcium without nitrogen.

I've never used calcium chloride to provide Ca because I wouldn't be able to get enough N without calcium nitrate. Calcium nitrate is the primary source of nitrate in most hydroponic mixes because you can only use so much potassium nitrate before you have way too much K. There are 2 nitrates...

When does veg actually start the minite the seed pops?

I don't see why. It's not like the DWC reservoir is going to suddenly spike up to toxic levels. What seems bold is everyone starving their younger plants by giving them quarter strength, or only pH'd water until 2 weeks. I just can't understand that.
