I tried the rock wool I cut it to fit the plastic pods and it worked great I think I'll be using this method from now on.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive RO system I can install myself. Distilled water was OK for just a few plants but next grow is gonna be biggger to impractical to use distilled water next time. Actually I guess I'm really looking for recommendations

I was keeping mine about 2 inches above and I got spots on leaves someone told me LED is supposed to be 18" above plants. I only had room to set it at 12" above and it worked great. Good luck
