Led Drivers and heatsink question for the cxa3070 build.

I have been thinking the same thing. Everyone seems to be struggling with the smaller taps.

    5000K for flowering?

3000k "should" yield more, but... My most beautiful plants/buds were grown with an Indagro lamp. I'm building a Vero 18 lamp with 4000k cobs. I like shorter, stockier plants.

Gonna do my first DIY LED with Cree CXA3590

You don't typically solder or braze aluminum. (there is one exception, but I wouldn't recommend it). It can be mig welded with a spool gun or tig welded. How about some light angle and some pop rivets. Pretty simple. Are you mounting your driver onto your heatsink? Ooh...that's gonna get hot!

Led Drivers and heatsink question for the cxa3070 build.

The driver does not have a plug attached. The blue wire is the "neutral" (the bigger slot in your wall socket) and the brown wire is "line". (the smaller slot in the wall socket) THIS IS FOR U.S.A. setups.

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

I ordered 3 of these heatsinks from China to use with 2 VERO18 per sink @1050. (dimmable) According to the sellers description, it should be enough to work passively. We shall see... The price for the sinks is good until you add the shipping. Still cheaper than HSUSA...

That seems a bit extreme, but ok. I never really paid much attention to Kessil until these 380s came out. They will serve a specific purpose for me. They "only" need to produce 90 grams each to pass my test.

    New To LED

And now for some bad news; that lamp should cover an area of about 2ft x 2.5ft. Their coverage claims for flowering are exaggerated and there is nothing "advanced" about that spectrum. Actual wattage draw should be about 180 watts. The good news is it should produce for you. 4 plants with some...

COB choice for small space DIY

9v@1.amp, 18v@.500ma or 37v@.250ma. The listing is for the 37v. You would want to drive them at .250ma. I don't see any order code numbers so how would you know what the bin is?

No, the A51s are great, but they are back ordered at the moment. You will get great results from either. It's just personal preference. I think it just comes down to growing "style", I see more vigorous growth with the lamps that have less white. Another option would be the newest Kessil H380...

    CFL Budget, LED alternerative!

Powering LEDs with a wall wart is not a good idea. You should use a CONSTANT CURRENT driver. They are cheap and all over Ebay.
