that sounds like a great idea with the 860w, the problem was limited availability of LFSW ballast technology when the bulb was introduced. i'm really digging my 315w setup, that's for damn sure.

if you have a bin that still has material outside, you don't need more worms. just bring it in (or otherwise assure it is at a decent temperature range) and feed it and they will repopulate. hyroot is right, the worms really like cardboard or something else as a mulch on top, coco chips also...

these 315w LEC systems are serious business. i've got one over a 40"x40" space and the nodes are tight as hell in veg, but i haven't gotten to flower a run under it yet. @GroErr runs them for flowering, he might be able to give you some good advice on square footage.

I got one of these lights 10 days or so ago for the kitchen herb garden, and they are loving it so far. canopy is 3.5 sq ft (14"x36"), light is 20w at 4000k color temp and has very even coverage. have it over cilantro, mint, and parsley so far. can't wait to swap parsley for basil and oregano...
