    LASER Grow lights

There was another article i've read a while back about the use of 660nm red laser light at very short intervals in order to assist duckweed growth in contaminated water, i recall it being very effective, gotta dig that research up again..

    LASER Grow lights

lol you're right in the sense that laser diodes are not cheap by any means, they're just as available as LED diodes, just way way more expensive..

Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

Would you be so kind as to run these awesome tests on the same chips @ 90 CRI? btw got my 10 x cxm-22's/bjb's, thanks cobkits!

    LASER Grow lights

Well i crunched the numbers and if my calculations are right, according to the data provided in this experiment it would take: 80W of Laser light to provide 1000 PPFD for a 2x2 space and 320w for a 4x4. This is assuming the plants have the same PPFD requirement from coherent light as they do...

    LASER Grow lights

Whatever, you're missing the point, this isnt a Quantum board vs Cob thread, its about whether a Laser diodes can grow plants more efficiently then LEDs can, i was using Quantum board LED diodes as an example of high efficiency but it really doesn't matter in what form factor the chip is, the...

    LASER Grow lights

That was true before quantum boards became a thing, dont get me wrong i use cobs myself and i love them, but you cant ignore the fact that individual diodes are more efficient.. the samsung LM561C diodes (less then 1w each) can get over 200lm/W and so can the top nichia diodes (although only in...

Get rid of your air pump and make a waterfall with existing waterpump (6 site bucket)

yeah i'm aware hydrogen is explosive, that part bothered me also... but the claim is that is dissolves 50% MORE oxygen into the water then an air stone is capable of, what i'm worried about is how there are ANY examples of this being used anywhere...

    LASER Grow lights

Hello everyone, Laser grow lights have been on my mind for a while now, i always wondered if using Laser diodes would produce better results then LEDs at similar/lower wattage, since lasers produce coherent light while LEDs (and pretty much everything else) produces incoherent light, what the...

Get rid of your air pump and make a waterfall with existing waterpump (6 site bucket)

What about electrolysis to separate the water to oxygen and hydrogen? found this device but its expensive.. http://www.o2grow.com/technology There are some videos of it oprating on youtube if you search o2grow, but they're all from the company and i haven't seen any actual grow with it.. still...

All COB Users - Lettuce Grow Challenge!!

DWC beefstake tomato update, this is the one with no airstone, just a tiny pump at the bottom of the bucket that turns on every two hours for 15 minutes to mix things around, almost 3 months and the roots are still nice and white.. tomatoes were growing a little slow with just two 14.5w bulbs...

Get rid of your air pump and make a waterfall with existing waterpump (6 site bucket)

I see now why my no air stone experiment worked so well, coming up on 3 months for this DWC beefstake tomato and the roots are still nice and white with just a tiny pump at the bottom of the bucket that turns on for 15 min every two hours.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Thanks, but it would be cheaper for me to get a QB304/slate 2 and source the driver locally rather then have you ship a kit since the driver is heavy and ramps up the shipping cost, i'll have to attach a cord that fits my socket anyways and i plan on leaving the driver outside my tent so the...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Hey robin do you have si-32 plugs for the 135w kit? also, say i wanted to run a QB304 at around 150W, would a HLG-120H-C1400 be a good choice to drive it?

    DHP Presents Citizen Cob 1812 3500k 80CRI Vs 1812 3500k 90 CRI

Hey man, i was looking into Soraa a couple of months back, thought about maybe ordering a few lights for testing since they have that gorgeous spectrum, but honestly i just dont think its worth it since their efficiency is so damn low, basically both Soraa and Yuji, produce LEDs that use violet...

Should I be bubbling my water?

Huh i'm also only using a small submersible pump to mix the nutrients for a few minutes every 2 hours (to keep the temps low) testing this on a beefstake tomato and its really working well, pearly white roots after 3 months.. no aeration at all..

Get rid of your air pump and make a waterfall with existing waterpump (6 site bucket)

Hey guys, haven't tried this with weed yet but i'm currently growing beefstake tomatoes in DWC with no bubbler, just the smallest submersible pump i could find, running on a timer for 15 minutes every 2 hours, just to keep the fertilizer from falling out of solution, its on a time to keep the...
